Granted Vancouver has made the finals and is good in the regular season, they came into the league 3 years removed from torontos last cup and you guys haven't won anything either, so that's pretty pathetic also. good luck trying to convince anyone on this site that Getzlaf or Perry are committed to the ducks. its the same as trying to convince anyone in the world that the ducks may actually be a decent team this year; what with a rebuilt, above average defense with a couple pp weapons, two franchise players in contract years, a swan song for a legendary hall of famer, and a healthy all-star calibre goalie.

Which is funny, because until recently I thought it was the opposite.

Getz has a young family and his wife really doesn't want to move. He is also the Captain and essentially the face of the franchise when Teemu retires. I don't see him going anywhere.

If Getz re-signs then Pears probably does too. But recent comments from Pears are far more non-committal than those coming from Getzlaf.

The team is in a position to give both players big contracts, and it is not a terrible place to live either. But until they are signed there will be a lot of rumors, as they would be two of the biggest UFAs this off season.

As far as the Ducks go, I don't think they are going to be a particularly 'decent' team this season, but they should be better than last season. Getz, Pears, Bobby, Fowler were all bad last season. Hiller was terrible in the first half too. If all of these guys bounce back then I think the team is good for 7th or 8th.
