Agree...when Finley is -15 after 20 games, you all want him sent down to Bridgeport...

He's our #6 "D" man.

A guy that played 5 NHL games and a guy that scored 40 goals 6 years ago. Carkner and Boulton. Garth deserves some credit, this team actually looks worse than last year. Never thought it was possible? Party on Garth

In Garth's defense, adding visnovsky filled a lot of holes. But yes, as of right now we have a top 5 NHL first line,a couple of decent 2nd liners and 2 good defensemen.. Imagine how bad this team is if we didn't draft or get the #1 pick to get Tavares ?

How do you figure? Moulson is good and Tavares is Tavares but Boyes or whatever gets inserted there does not make a top 5 first line in the NHL. As for the last sentence, I may not be watching this team if we didn't draft Tavares. The guy is the best thing that happened to this franchise since Lafontaine. As far as the other part this is one of the worst Islanders teams I've ever seen. Him trading for Vis was a good move(of course not in the end but intially), I'll definitely agree with you there but snow should have been doing damage control the day all this BS started and that was the day after the trade. There is zero reason for this team to look like this, it's a (frank)ing disgrace. They wouldn't make it to the playoffs for the Calder cup let alone the Stanley cup. Who are these people kidding on here? Gimme a break. Of course you have those "hockey miracles" when teams exceed expectations but come on. Anyone who thinks Snow is doing a good job is completely out of their (frank)ing minds. This team is going to get shelled, these wonderful prospects we have are going to get mauled. All of these lofty expectations that everyone put on players like Cizikas and Ulstrom, etc will get put to rest. They don't stand a chance, anyone who doesn't think so just doesn't know hockey. It's that easy. Look at our conference. Visnovsky not coming here of course should have an impact but not to the extent as this teams going to feel. I mean think about just how many holes are in this team with or without Vis. It's negligent to the point it's laughable.

I think the past two season have seen this team slip backwards.

During last season many posted that the team wasnt as competitive as the previous season. Lack of grit. No scoring. Poor coaching. No urgency from management or the players.

I believe this years team will lead us to even more disappointment then last seasons team.

Truthfully I'm complexly baffled.

Our future home is set for a near lifetime. Yet its business as usually over in Nassau. Cost conscious, bargain basement shopping with Little to no urgency or creativity.

Isnt it time to turn the page?

We argued last season about what yr it is in Garth Snow's proclaimed 5 yr rebuild.

Everyone has to agree now that this is the FINAL YEAR of the rebuild!

And I think EVERYONE can agree that the team at present will not make the PO's again this year.

So shouldnt there be some repercussions for failure? But not just Failure... Regression!

Can anyone in all seriousness say they believe that the Isles will Ice a PO caliber team before its off to Brooklyn?

I dont need to wait till April to observe what I know already?

I really do believe we have a worse team now then we did 3 yrs ago when we had that impressive 2nd half to the season and then Snow started adding a bunch of washed up crap, sending us in a different direction that we still havent recovered from.

I really cant figure out what the heck is going on. I thought that when it was announce that we were headed to the Barkley Center.

Boyes, MM and JT?

They have never played a minute together yet they are among the Very Best in The NHL? Up there with the Sedin line. Stamkos line, Cosby line?

Shouldnt we actually see them play together before anointing them among the Best In The NHL.

I do agree with you that JT and MM make up a terrific 2/3 of a 1st line!

Otherwise...

We are going to have to disagree on this one my friend.

I figure because Tavares is a top 10 player and moulson is fourth in goals the last three seasons.

Besides that I agree with every word you say for the most part.

Okposo is playing first line with them. Last year when Tavares went on his tear, that was the line combination

Look at the numbers. Tavares was 8th in scoring. And moulson was 22nd in scoring. Ahead of Sedin,Zetterberg,st.louis...etc

JT/MM & PA collectively put up 217 points last season. Haven't checked all the other team combos but I'll bet $1 they were in the top 5-7 scoring lines in NHL.

oh my god yes!

We were evil for grabbing a guy off waivers, that was only signing with the wings because he wanted a shot at the cup.. we didnt do anything wrong claiming him, we didnt break any laws, but yes we looked like the wrong ones in the whole situation

Do you think teams in the west who had to play the Wings down the stretch and in the playoffs thought the Islanders were wrong? Not so sure about that.

What strikes me more than anything is the lack of urgency and only maybe one or two steps forward when they should have made about 5 steps since 2008. Their true bright spot was Tavares, moulson, parenteau and they let one of them walk. I love Frans Neilson but this guy is a great 3rd line center, not 2ndline center. I'm tired of relying on kids who will be fringe bottom six players and has been washed up vets playing important roles on this team.

Also, besides all of that. The only fact you need to see that we can rest our case on is That DP is on this roster. They don't care about winning.

To make room for TJ Brennan evidently? I know nothing about the guy besides he was a first round "bust" as described by a few. Just from what little I saw about the guy on line. If you go on the Sabre message boards nobody seems upset about losing him, knocked on his skating and his game. Doesn't sound overly impressive and I'm not overly shocked.

People on here did the same thing when we lost Parentau. Its a natural reaction by a lot of fans and isn't necessarily a good way to determine a players worth.

I hear you but i really don't think he's worth anything. It wasn't any PA bs like it was on this board, they really don't care. It's not that much of a loss. Lets call a spade a spade here. Hopefully with this he turns into some super star

Four years of stocking up and rebuilding the prospect pool. Which the team would have been in the bottom 5 four years ago.

Now we are in the top 5.

We are moving next year... the team has been losing money every year.

With the new CBA, and new arena... this team will actually have money to spend.

The new season started 48 hrs ago!!!

Did any of you guys follow the LA Kings for the last 6 years... please go back and check out their past.

This rebuild can work...

Give it a chance!!!

Wow... just Wow!!!

I don't even know what to say anymore... pretty sad...

so i guess all in agreement that this team has holes, but will still make the playoffs.......

Until Wang is away from the coliseum and the lousy lease, he will not invest money into team bc he claims is losing $20M a yr....
so unfortunately until the move into Brooklyn, expect the same of what we been getting....

funny thing also, every other hockey team has lowered prices or something for the fans to come back, this redicolous team raises prices....
