exactly.
no way in hell Nonis makes a brutal trade in his first week at the helm.
not only because he is conservative gm, but he also knows there is absolutely no reason not to see if Reimer/Scrivens can do the job. - Barx
Burke likes to make a splash, basically run and scream cannon ball and jump in...I get the feeling Nonis stands in the corner with his robe on waiting for everyone to leave the pool before he gets in.

At 12 she had all the right components ....really at that age a thin tshirt was all I cared about.
Loni Anderson was equally effective ...probably moreso. - The Law
Another one who never did it for me.

Kadri was between Mac and Kulemin today. I like that ..it gives him a couple of good 2-way wingers to protect him. I'd let Bozak and Connolly battle for the right to play with Lupul and Kessel and Grabo can play between Frattin and JVR.
The defence blows ....Gunnar and Phaneuf are going to get 30 minutes a night early on. - The Law
hmm...
Lupul-Bozak-Kessel(lets be honest. Connolly's gonna break an ankle first game or something)
JVR-Grabo-Frattin
Kulemin-Kadri-MacArthur
That's a good distribution of offense throughout the lineup, assuming Kulemin bounces back. |

It's funny, I also had the impression that Connolly was injury-prone last year.
But he played 70 games. |

Seemed healthy enough on the ice today. He'll get hurt though, especially in such a condensed schedule.
Depth is going to be a major asset for this team this year. I cant imagine there not being a few of them with guys being either rusty or feeling the effects of the schedule. |

Unless there's a trade I think you'll still see Connolly over Kadri in that top 9. He's playing for a contract so they might get 48 games out of him. |

I remember hearing that Carlyle likes Kadri. I think Connolly's gonna have his work cut out for him... or might move over to the wing.
I see a trade coming though. Nothing big. But something. Maybe an extra winger(MacA) or center(Connolly) for a pick or defensive d-man. |

If it was up to me, I'd put Connolly at #1, Grabbo at #2 and Kadri at #3.
This season is a write-off, and I sincerely doubt we re-sign Bozak at the end of the year. So might as well deal him now for a bag of pucks, and get Kadri some NHL experience.
And pray to God Connolly can hit 60-65 points. |

does anyone think we may trade or buy out liles? If one of the D we have in the AHL shows up and is a reliable NHL'er. After he came back from Injury he was awful.. didnt look the same. Or Maybe Rielly steps in to replace some of the offence next season.
With liles and Komi off the books, thats a lot of cap space |

I will go out on a limb here, there is no chance in hell they buyout Liles, as for a trade, doubt it. |

Agreed ...I think the only way they would ever consider that is if he's garbage this year and they choose to amnesty him.
Won't happen ...he'll get 25 mins per night early on ...and I thought he was starting to look a little better the last month or so last year. |

He was their best defenceman before he got his brain scrambled.
Again, hope for the best. |

Now reshaping the leadership of this team by moving Phaneuf in the summer ....maybe that's something to consider in the right circumstances (i.e. signing another veteran or two). |

I'd keep Bozak over Connolly any day.
Gives it his all every game, and can be a good 3rd line center if we need him to be. |
