Have we beat opening night line combos to death yet? No? Good.

What is the general consensus?

Lupul-Bozak-Kessel
JVR-Grabo-Kadri
Mac-McClement-Kulemin
Brown-Steckel-Frattin
Connolly
Lombardi
Komarov

Phaneuf-Gunnar
Liles-Komisarek
Franson-Holzer

?

I wish so bad that we had someone to slot into 1C so our 3rd line could be Kuli/Bozak/Frattin.

Like I said it was a wrong setting, eventually they would find it, also propagation needs to catch up when you switch DNS.

Cork was fine.

We weren't religious about proper storage.

Quite frankly, I don't have the patience to be a wine guy. I'm not going to sit on thousands of dollars in the basement, hoping that everything turns out alright.

Hit the LCBO, stock up on enough product for a few weeks, and repeat.

I agree ....it's all about that magic $20 or less bottle. I've got a minor collection but most are gifts.

Kadri plays his best at center... I'd look at something like this(barring trades)

Lupul-Grabo-Kessel(GRABO WORKS WITH THEM GODDAMIT. Primary offense line)
Kulemin-Bozak-Frattin(2-way line)
JVR-Kadri-MacA(secondary offense)
Komarov-McClement-Brown

Lombo takes a ride on the waiver train, Connoly and Steckel on the pine.

Phaneuf-Liles
Gardiner(Rielly for 9)-Gunnar(Gardiner needs a strong defensive partner more than Phaneuf, IMO)
Kostka-Holzer would be my choice, but probably Franson-Komi again.

What is the general consensus?

general consensus is that with the leafs current line up, they'll be jockeying with CLB and NYI for bottom 3 draft picks...

Rielly can only play 5 games or he burns one year of ELC.

You have to disable user HTML and you can't or bloggers cannot upload content.

5 then.

If he earns it, anyways. But somebody's gotta fill in for Gardiner, so it may as well be him.

Any other thoughts?

Wouldn't Louongoal be a Leaf right now if Burke was the only thing standing in the way?
- Leafland

apparently not according to Gillis - haven't you heard Lalongo is an all-star.. and Vancouver wants to hang onto him because it will be so helpful to his club to have that modest 5MCAP hit for the next hundred years AND a goal tending controversy after each and every game. It will help the team focus - no doubt.

One of the ways I have found to get around this is to not accidentally type "www.menfistingmen.com" into the address bar.

Haha, doesn't help that that is my homepage though.

My guess on those sites, they are given admin rights, then you can disable user html.

Can go with Kostka for 5 to 10 games while Gardiner recovers.

I think it has got to be good for the kid to be around the big team for those 5 games, regardless of whether Gardiner is ready or not.... don't see any down side - letting him experience what will no doubt be pressure around the locker room for the opening night in Montreal will be great for him.

Of course - this is all with one caveat - he should never ever ever be forced to play as Komisarek's D partner... one of those cement head and hands passes into his feet from the 'now in shape' Crapasarek could end his career.

Franson will probably earn a regular spot past Rielly's first 5 games...also, any chance the Leafs give Komisarek the Gomez/Redden treatment if other dmen like Kostka step up? A real shame they couldn't convince Ranger to give the NHL a try this season, but good on him for trying to finish a good thing and look to next season.

I'm pretty sure vbulliten lets you type in faux, and has html.

And more importantly, why does faux (frank) it up?

I would've liked to see Ranger at camp as well. He's got some patience on the blueline.

we are going to learn alot about Mr Carlyle in the coming week... mainly whether he has the balls to play - and I mean really play - players like Kadri ahead of stiffs like Connolly. Connolly was a veteran last year coming in with big expectations (his - not mine) and he crapped the bed, got hurt and crapped the bed some more. there is no reason to not give Kadri a genuine shot for a period of time.. and not in some part time 3 line checking role.... that's not why he was drafted where he was.

if we see Connolly, Lombardi and Komisarek all in the line-in MOntreal on Saturday - all playing prominent roles - then we might as well get ready for another season with low effort - when it matters - and all the blame falling on the goalies.

the saving grace if that does happen will be that Carlyle won't be around very long either...

I really admire Bergevin the Montreal GM - straight up front - Gomez go home - we don't want you and we don't want to risk keeping you around. No BS about how he is a great help to the young players, blah blah blah... I wish the Leafs had the same courage/conviction - just get rid of the dead wood.

Man, Kostka looks good enough to stay full-time, IMO.

Honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Hamilton make the Leafs. Not sure who he'd replace. Maybe if there was a trade, with a guy like MacA leaving.

I hope Franson can live up to his promise. Don't know if he got to work with the skating coach yet, but that could make a huge difference.

This Leafs team can play team defense. Saw it a few times under Wilson, but never for an extended period of time.
