If Patrick Kane comes to T.O, that will never happen. You won't want Kane here. |

So what would you guys give up to Colorado to get O'Reilly?
Bozak + Rielly?
Kadri + Gardiner?
Kadri or Bozak + 1st?
... You know it will be costly, be he could be a number 1 center for us, and he's only 22.

Then why is he still a Nuck?? - bixll
cause of a really bad contract...oh, wait...hmm.... |

LOL, what a load of crap from Gillis.
Unless, there is only one team (ie; Leafs) that actually called him, didn't care about the contract.

If we can get him for free...Maybe,
If we can get him for Con, Komi and Lombardi, great, pull the trigger. If we are not making the club better, all around, why get the guy. I don;t think he would be a positive in the room.. No deal. |

Just because they haven't mentioned it, doesn't mean it's not a obstacle: a pretty large, clearly obvious barrier I might add.
I think Gillis isn't budging on his asking price and he'll wait for a team desperate to make a move, even if that means playing Lu as backup/insurance all season.
Plus, if Kesler if still hurt, is LTIR not an option to give them some room to make a deal?

Im pretty much the same...if the Leafs can acquire him on the cheap, sure what the hell. If it costs legitimate assets that fit their future plans...just pass. |

I dunno, he would be a good pickup for the Leafs, but he is basically a second line center. (he would be 1st line on the Leafs). You are still taking a chance that he develops into the #1 center you need.
I suspect I would not give up as much as Colorado asked, since Rielly, Gardiner and our 1st would be off-limits to me.

Keep Jake...
Trade bait should be :
- Kadri - Soft and he will be injured all the time.
- Lambardi - Soft and he will be injured all the time
- Connolly - Soft and he will be injured all the time
- Komi - Can't skate |

Here's the thing,
Everyone knows that contract is a problem so Gillis' comments about it are meaningless.
Gillis is doing exactly what he should be doing. He should be selling Luongo as an "all-star" goalie, and be asking what the price would be for an all-star goalie in this league.
Will he get that price? Only from a desparate team. Team won't be really desparate until the season is a few weeks old and a key injury happens to a cup contender or a team like the Leafs feels they *have* to make the playoffs and Reimer and Scrivens are sh1tting the bed...
Along the way, Gillis gets to keep Lou as insurance in case his own goalie sh1ts the bed or gets injured. Vancouver has a closing window. Everyone knows it. Keeping Luongo is a good idea for them IMHO.
Then this summer or next summer he trades him for whathe can get or buys him out.
... if teams are not offering much for him, there is zero motivation for trading him.

Bernier makes more sense, imo. Could be had for a decent price and would hold his own with Reimer. |

Kadri should have been lighting up the AHL this year. 8 or 9 gaols is not lighting it up. He should have shown that he was ready by really dominating, and,, not so much. |
