Your trading Myers to get a top flight Center not another D man.
- SABRES 89

Say we do trade him for a center
Leopold & Regehr are UFA after this season
I\'d like u to list the defense pairings we\'d have for next year

If we trade Myers it ABSOLUTELY has to be for another defenseman

Agreed. And from what I\\\'ve read on here and other sites it seems if McNabb has taken a step back too. When he got called up the first time or two I thought he was years ahead of the game..
- Pairo11

I think he\'ll get back to form
A couple years from now I actually think he will be our best defenseman

worry about next year next year, money will come off the books and they can get a few D men then. Good GM\'s find ways to do things.

Time that\\\'s the Sabres seem to have is TIME, TIME and more TIME. To much hype with Myers and not enough \\\"Game\\\" he needs to gain some weight if he ever has a chance to be a \\\"stud\\\" D man.
- SABRES 89

I believe that in his 3 years with Buffalo.. he has gone from 180 to 215?? I think.

I know I saw a video on the amount of calories and triple daily workouts they have him doing every offseason. I know that every season he talks about how it takes time to adjust his conditioning and stamina to adding new weight. I think I saw saw that 215-225 will be his permanent weight.

Myers is not Chara... and he is not Pronger... Myers is Myers.. he is a speed skating d-man with a very accurate shot who can join a rush. His defensive game is just coming around to being \"physical\" to NHL standards. He lays his body and he does hit people as you can look at youtube and see clips of him knocking down guys such as Lucic, Talbot, Malkin, Zubrus, Doan, and his big hit against Versteeg in the playoffs against Philly. He is not perfect.. but I like where he is going for a 24 year old. His contract looks big now but in 3 years.. the size of contract that a player of his caliber gets.. he will be gold. Look at some of the UFA deals handed out htis year.. Wideman and Carle for instance.

Good GMs also look ahead
And the $$$ we have coming off the books is negated by the cap going down

Defense is a much bigger need than center
Hodgson, Ennis & Grigorenko all have ppg potential
And Girgensons has great 2way center potential
I know u don\'t want to \"wait\" any longer,
But trading one of our 2 best defenseman is not smart

And I didn\'t ask u how Darcy would have the top4 look without Myers,
I asked how YOU would

I thought Myers was an absolute beast for us against Philly in the playoffs a couple years ago
IMO, he has it in him...
Just needs to show it more consistently

- jdfitz77

It needs to start now IMO. No reason not to. I just cant fathom havingthat size and not imposing yourself on others. What is there to be scared of? He will never be on the bad end of a collision, and if he is on the rare occasion, who cares, that is what the souped up kevlar equipment is for.

Next year, McNabb & the physical game he brings will be a great partner for Myers
So IMO,
We need to find someone to pair w ehrhoff to round out our top4

Fair point

He just needs to bring it more consistently

Brennan?

Ehrhoff and Sulzer did a heck of a job last year... let\'s see if they can keep it up this year.. If so im sure they will re-sign him to stay partners with Christian.

I agree with this... I have always advocated having a stay at home d-man with every offensive minded D-man.

I like Myers and McNabb together next year.

I don\'t know a ton about our prospects but are either Pysyk or McCabe considered stay at home guys? They are a few years from the NHL yet so next year is still a question mark on Ehrhoff\'s pairing partner.

He has a long way too go. Right now he\'s getting outplayed by Brennan in the AHL. I like Brennan, but Mcnabb is almost 22 not 18 or 19. He needs to make the jump next year IMO at the latest.

Ballsy...
I could see him possibly leading in goals,
But I doubt points
That\'s most likely vanek or pominville, and with Hodgson on that line I\'m expecting 60+ points from him
And if staff is lighting it up w goals, ennis will prob be getting a bunch of assists on them, so he\'ll be up there in points too

With Grigorenko & Armia likely on the roster by next season,
I like how our top9 looks going forward

How much time do you have? Do you have all day so you can read the whole list? Or just a couple hours for the abbreviated version?

Maybe...
But let\'s see how he does this year first
I\'d also like to see a more physical \"defensive\" guy paired w ehrhoff...
A guy like Seabrook or Girardi would be perfect
(not that either of them would be available)

Maybe edler?
They spent time paired together in Vancouver if I\'m not mistaken

I never did predict that,
But they have both had 70+ multiple times,
So it's not that much of a leap to think they can be t
Ppg players...
100pts, that's pushing it...
But 80-85pts,
That's completely doable for Pommer & vanek...
I think they are both at Lear 70pt guys in a full season
