Once again it's very frustrating waiting for the front office to do something and improve the team. Something isn't right there. It seems like the decision makers are stuck in cement.

This team better by hotter than the sun come puck drop or they will be out of it before the end of Jan. Playing so many away games so soon, not good.

If the Hawks make a deal for a goalie how long before he gets exposed too with that loose defence & "all back into the goalie" PK?

So looks like they really want to try Bolland at 2C. It'll be interesting as to whether he can elevate his offensive game enough to keep up and produce with 88 and 10. Also can Shaw win a draw? Is he positionally sound enough defensively to match up with top lines in the west? Don't know how I feel about this

Going to be a whole lot scoring, both for and against with that line(10-36-88).

Dont expect Stan to do anything people. Hes timid and will not hang himself out there if a trade goes bad. Dumping players to get salary back he does very well. Trading his devine prospects??? NO WAY! Shame.. this team is still clearly in the Cup window. Get some net minder and C help and we become a force. But no, get ready for the "we were close on several deals" BS that Stanley is famous for.

No kidding.. Imagine if this team used a strict D zone scheme? Wow.. playing D?! What a concept. Q was known for stud D teams back with St. Louis. WTH happened. More issues here then having a wussy GM who cant decide what he should eat for breakfast. Well Q has set the table for himself. He has his own handpicked staff. Show some results Q.

What do you think about them keeping Carcillo with Toews? I know they want to protect him, but Carcillo will need to produce offensively and not just be an energy guy. You also don't want players taking penalties with Toews and Hoss on the ice when they can dominate 5 on 5. Overall just a bit skeptical, but knowing Q they will change after we go scoreless in the first period in LA

Not much to choose amongst here, Carbomb, Shaw or Bollig. The Capt. and big Hoss need someone to protect their backs, else we'll get to watch both get the shyt kicked out of them, again.

Bowman: Trade is unlikely. LIkes the depth and young players. Have quite a few guys ready to play. Personell-wise, have pieces they like.

Just saw that. Guess he didn't want to trade "a prized prospect".

Funny how this comes out again after he failed to pull the trigger on a deal today.

Bowman better hope that CC and Razor can hold down the fort. I personally don't think they are good enough to get us to the SCF.

It's hard to be a Hawks fan with obvious holes going unfilled. We've been talking about it for more than 2 years now!!

I don't expect this to last long. How long will it take Q to move Bolland back to the 3rd line?

Bowman: #Blackhawks are "positioned very well" for new salary cap, due to having top guys signed, and young cheap talent "on the doorstep."

I understand him trying to be flexible for when the cap comes down next year, but at some point he has to realize this team's glaring needs and address them in the long term, not patch them up with questionable veterans and young guys who may or may not be ready.

Darn.

I was hoping he'd tell the media that he was desperate to trade for a goalie and a center.

So three years after the Cup:

Same core-7 guys who won the Cup are legitimate contributers.

NO ONE ELSE - the guys Bowman brought in by draft, trade, FA signing - none of them have contributed anything more than "potential" toward helping that core compete.

But for the third straight year, they're positioned we'll under the cap FOR NEXT YEAR.

The window is closing on this core, and he is always more concerned with next year's cap than this year's competition.

I guess, no need to be concerned with actually competing as long as the waiting list grows even during a lockout.

There is another narrative emerging here that Bowman wants the public to believe he is "trying" and that's good enough (perceptually).

- John Jaeckel

Same old song and dance and leads to lack of belief in the GM being able to do the job.

Is this all just fluff JJ? Do you believe Stan is trying to improve the team, or is it smoke and mirrors to try to give us, the fans, the politician treatment (having the illusion of being there for us without actually doing anything)

Maybe right now it doesn't make sense to make a move? Twenty some games into the season we'll hopefully see a few teams out of the hunt. Maybe it will be time then to make a move?
