Not sure what you wanted them to do in this situation?

Seems pretty logical to me!!!

- jimmc7722

What most fans of sports teams expect there GM's to do. Actually try to bring players to their team that will help them win. Yeah know? That's what a GM's job is. Did you forget?

With all the prosepects, picks and Cap space and the Isles cannot do better than this? Charles and Garth are really going to milk not having to do anything before the move to Brooklyn.

Expect more of the same when they move there.

No I agree... need to see some committment to the team this year.

We need some kinda sign that they are ready to take it to the next level.

New arena... New CBA... It's time!!!

- jimmc7722

But you just posted, "What do you expect them to do?". Makes no sense?

The season starts this week... you need to be ready to go.

You have all season to make changes... sorry I forgot I have to make things simple for you to understand...

There is short term needs and long term needs.

Radek is a very short term need...

In a shortened season its all about the short term, as in right now you need to win...right out of the gate if we are to win games. However if the long term plan is to stink and grab Seth Jones, MacKinnon or Druoin I can live with that...lol Went to the moosehead game last night and Mackinnon made a sick lob pass high in the air to Druoin right at the blue lone Druoin picked it up and deked out the goalie..it was a beauty for sure. MacKinnon doesn't skate, he gallops...lol

Like Radek actually...doesn't really hurt us at all. we have plenty of room and it would appear that won't be changing....is there no other team Garth can call and do something creative. If a real GM had this team with the assets we have they would be wheeling and dealing like crazy. And no didn't say sell the farm either but between the NHL club, AHL and prostpects you can combine a few together and land a decent guy to play on the 2nd line!!! Don't wait unitl 2015 Garth
- Nolanders

Do you know what this team is lacking... why in the world would we trade for a second line player when we need D..... we dont have enough D-men to ice a friggen team & you want to subtract from what we have to get what we already have, ignoring what we need.... nice!

Bringing back martinek is laughable. Isles continuing the trend of bringing in cheap old FA's because its worked so well before. This team as is would be lucky to win 10-15 games. To many questions as always, and they will not score a lot of goals. Tavares and Moulson are the whole offense and that's it. Hopefully we end up drafting MacKinnon or even Jones

So with the new CBA... all 14 teams get a chance @ the 1st overall.

Weighted system of course!!!

I know some people don't like Martinek... but it is a temporary band aid because of the Vis situation, and injuries to de Haan.

You need as much depth as you can get for the short season.

Injuries can kill you.

From Corey Pronman's Top 50 list of prospects yesterday...

9. Ryan Strome, Center, New York Islanders (Previous Ranking: 9): Strome doesn't have much more to prove at the CHL level. He is still working on fine tuning his off-the-puck work, but from an offensive standpoint, he has been simply dominant.

28. Kirill Kabanov, Left Wing, New York Islanders (Previous Ranking: 23): It's funny that as I have gradually lowered Kabanov's ranking over the last year or so, I have started to hear NHL sources coming in at or near my level of optimism about his future. Kabanov is a very skilled player who has recently shown an increased level of competitiveness. He was injured early in the season, but should be back fairly soon.

30. Griffin Reinhart, Defense, New York Islanders (Previous Ranking: 75): I've started to come around on Reinhart, as I've liked how his mobility has improved and the high level of two-way hockey sense he displays. He did not have a good World Juniors, with one NHL exec coming away pretty unimpressed by him, but many scouts think he can be an excellent defensive player at the top level.
