Not necessarily. Backstrom would be a good candidate, but would probably be inclined to resign if he sees this team in MIN has a real shot of going the distance.

I'd be up for taking a flyer on Nabokov, but he'll probably have the opportunity to log lots of playing time, and, once DiPi is bought out, a decent paycheque too.

Mike Smith is available, but I have no clue what he must be thinking, as there's ownership issues, which apparantly have been solved(for now, wait til he sees how empty that barn is this season).

In the end, if we wait this out, Luongo may be available as a UFA. Now, he'll be looking to go back to FLA, or TB, but in that case, a guy like Jakub Markstrom might be up for grabs in a trade.

I'm just hoping that the Grabs-Mac-Kul line can rediscover its touch. It was such a shame that the Loops and Kessel line had to shoulder such a burden.

Also, we still don't know what kind of an impact JVR, Frattin and Kadri will have to this lineup.

There's a very real possiblity we could wind up with three really effective scoring lines this year.

Kessel - Bozak - Loops
Mac - Grabs - Kulemin
Kadri - JVR - Frattin

Anybody notice that all the Leaf photos on their site have that god awful filter to make them look older? It's almost like they are trying to trick us into think those 67 team photos aren't really that long ago.
