I think the Oilers should be calling this week. For just the reasons you said in the blog... to shave some of the players they don't have room for. Belanger, Eager and Omark come to mind. Maybe they realize that Pajarvii might never get a spot on the line up no matter how he develops due to the top 6 roles being filled already.

Also there is a market for d men and the Oilers might try to change this up. If there is a market for Foster as TSN is reporting, maybe Whitney would fetch a price. If I was Tambi, I might send some offers out to see if someone wants him before he gets injured. He might have more value later but he has no value if he gets hurt. Plus Schultz playing third line with Potter can be replaced with someone that is not being payed that much. Package him with Pajarvii and something and you might get a return of a young dman that might be top 4 next year when Whitney is gone.

Realistically I think we all know that Steve will not do anything since this has been his philosophy since becoming GM but every team should be on the phones this week just in case something is out there.
