That's a lot, even though I do want Luongo. If Toronto can get away without giving up a 1st round pick or Gardiner, i'd consider all deals which involve upgrading the goaltending.

Even if we sent nothing back it would be too much to pay for Luongo (by simply taking that gruesome salary). If the Leafs trade any assets for Luongo, they will be the biggest laughing stock in the NHL.

I do agree that he's so much in the fore front that he takes away from teams, he's was the face of the Leafs, and that's not right. It also has to do with Toronto not having a real star for a long time, but that in turn is Burkes fault also, somewhat. I do like that he speaks his mind and doesn't back down on what he wants, and believes in his decisions, you need a person like that.

Did Simmons deserve it? Hell yeah ! It was priceless ! But Burkie still came across as a total a$$ and I'll bet he'll regret some things that he said tomorrow..
