Dont think he has proven enough yet. Still hasn't reached his potential and is very immature. They should give him a bridge contract to make him grow up and prove he is worth a Doughty contract. 3 years 12 mil$ and if he becomes a leader on defense then lock him up 7 years 56mil$ ...otherwise I dont see him being worth that much.

Answer is it does not matter. he will be worth as much as what MB is willing to pay.
So take a look at RFA's and the Habs have a history of not overpaying these guys (with the exception of Price).

Emelin signed for $2 million, Higgins when an RFA actually signed for less money.

Subban will one day be worth north f $5 million but I think he's goign to sign a short term term in the 2-3 years at somewhere around $12-$13.5 million.

Also right now K is extremely popular but if he decides not to report then this fan base will turn on him quickly.

I say worse case scenario is that he does not report to camp, Habs have another horrible year and then look to draft one of Jones, Drouin or MacKinon.

Agree with contract but by that same token (no pun intended) he was the best dman on the team. Led the team in minutes, points, +/-, so he is right on the verge
