I don't recall that trade. Who did the Leafs give up for Neely?

Seriously, you don't want to know.

Bob McKenzie said it clear as day, Burke wasn't against Luongo and he was going to go after him anyway. Both Burke and Nonis disagreed with the price Vancouver set.

Darren Dreger said it clear as day, Burke got fired because of his attitude and his style.

Those are the facts and it's time you deal with them.

you mean there's consequences when you act rude and belligerent to your new bosses?

no way. i dont believe it.

Worse trade...

Parent for Bob Neely or Scott Niedermayer for Tom Kurvers?

Ok....Go!

And if he isn't traded to Toronto, then we'll never know

- faceto27

That's true...we won't.

But in all liklihood, Luongo will be a Leaf by the start of the season. And I think it will become pretty evident as to why Burke was fired.

That's just my opinion.

What are the consequences if you act rude and belligerent to the Zebra's in the HB Leaf forum?

He doesn't and he isn't.

You mean if you grossly overpay a player, he will stay? What a revelation.

It's time you start reading and comprehending what other's post on here before you go spouting off like a troll...

Go re-read my post. I said clear as day that Burke thought the price was too high, which is why he vetoed the trade - and by too high, I point to the reports of it involving Kadri & a 2nd rounder.

If either of those components are involved in bringing Luongo here next week, it is safe to assume that Burke was the only thing standing between Luongo & Toronto.

Get it yet?

Lot of people say Kessel trade but for me in the recent variety...

Including Steen in the Stempniak trade

Rask for Raycroft

are for me worse.

I agree that he isn't a franchise player....but he has heart.

Well...at least more heart than Robbie Earl, or Juri Tlusty.

That be great. Unfortunately it will also involve the likes of Kadri and a 2nd.

I don't know how you can include any trade that involves a draft pick. That is a unknown variable.

looks like scott niedermeyer has been named assistant coach for the ducks.

wonder if that will have any effect on getzlaf and perry's desire to stay there.

I think it gives them a better chance of keeping 1 there.

I don't see both staying though...

From all reports I read at the time, they offered him contracts but he wouldn't sign.
