I have to go but I will dig up his point & goal total breakdown which I saw the other day, it will surprise you that the vast majority of his output was against playoff teams so that blows your whole argument out of the water but haters will hate, can't change your minds.

I know at least one playoff team he disappears against.

You can hide during the season, but good luck playing them in the playoffs.

And that's what it takes to win it all.

Sure a lot of people would have said that about 8th seed LA in April

Looking at the Kings dont ya think they where a whole lot better a team than someone who crawled into the playoff's??

And they, unlike the Leafs, have Spezza and Karlsson.
- Two_For_Truth

As far as their forwards are concerned, they don't have a whole hell of a lot after Spezza. Kessel and Loops were top 10 in the league up until they fell apart. If that Grabs line can figure it out, and start producing then we'll gain an advantage in that area.

Karlsson is obviously something special, and slipped under the radar, as he was taken around 16th(right before both Colborne and Gardiner) but our collective defense is good enough to work out, as long as we have patience.

Simply put, goaltending is the most important position in the game.

If you were around for the Pat Quinn era you'd have already figured that out.

The playoffs are a whole different season, get in and you can win.
- Arctic_AARDVARK

The vast majority of the time, it doesn't work like that. So "get in and you can win" holds very little water. About a drop. If that.

To be perfectly honest I thought they were going to steam roll the canucks. I wasn't in the least bit surprised by that.

Esp. with Kesler injured.

STL was young, inexperienced, and was missing Halak. Had Halak been in net, that may have been a different story, as that team is def. on the rise.

I never counted them out, I liked what they had in Quick as their starter. Once they got the Philly connection of Richards, Gagne and Carter together I figured they had as good a chance as any

So that is entirely Kessel's fault and the rest of the team gets a pass, yeah that is a fair assessment. Now I really have to go, I'm getting an angry stare, behave all.

Agreed:

Kings record before sutter:
15-14-4

With sutter:
25-13-11

The kings are a bad example of an 8th seed. They were underachieving massively until the coaching change.

Numbers say, the majority of the time, the top three teams in either conference win the Cup. Fact...but it did happen once that an 8th seed won.

I didn't forget, it's just that Spezza is such a fantastic player, he was a big part in Milan's numbers

What did the Leafs win during the Pat Quinn era? Figure that out.
