Doug Gilmour won his one and only Cup in Calgary at the age of 26. Maybe if the Leafs had been the ones to draft him, they would have had a bigger window of opportunity.

You are incorrect. Again. It was speculated by Spector, not reported. Learn the difference between report and speculation. You're welcome. - Two_For_Truth

And I quote:
"a source confirmed to sportsnet.ca that Burke was unwilling to make the trade that all of his lieutenants inside the Leafs organization were pushing for. That includes Burke's replacement, new Leafs GM Dave Nonis, who will now work towards consummating that trade with the Vancouver Canucks."
Your move.

Just got inundated with this one...
Nashville would send 2 #1's, Dumont, Zidlicky and Suter (possibly Weber depending on who you talk to ) to Washington for Ovechkin and Kolzig?
I can tell you this much. There are some legs to this rumour. It could turn out to be enormous. The players vary depending on the source, but the bottom line is Ovechkin and Kolzig to the Preds...
So it's Spector, with as much insider credibility as Eklund or it's Bob McKenzie and Darren Dreger.
Hope you learned something today. |

Wrong again. Nonis referred specifically to Gardiner & Rielly - that's what him and Burke agreed on...but he didn't say anything about Kadri or future draft picks, which I'm guessing is probably where they disagreed.
And it was reported by Spector that there was disagreement among Maple Leaf brass on the Luongo price. But keep thinking what you will...I just hope you're around these parts when Luongo is dealt next week for Kadri +. We'll talk then Uggie. - Pen15

Good to know you will ignore everything Dreger and McKenzie said to blindly believe a second rate writer with little to zero insider credibility. |

That's true...we won't.
But in all liklihood, Luongo will be a Leaf by the start of the season. And I think it will become pretty evident as to why Burke was fired.
That's just my opinion. - Pen15
You're just going to have to trust me on this:
The decision to fire Burke was made back in the summer. |

Here's a thought.... Since Bell owns TSN and Rogers owns SportsNet, maybe they are both right??? |

Has nothing to do with the players and voting. That will be completed tomorrow morning.
This has everything to do with the lawyers drawing up the paperwork and agreeing to the language. |
