Del Zotto is not a good comparable with Subban IMO. He's not the Rangers' #1 D.

agreed, he's not even their #3 lol

all they would of had to say is, look MDZ we have Girardi. McDonaugh and Staal, you can take less and stay on a cup contender, or go make more money somewhere else...done deal

plus if they win the cup he can up his price tht much more and teams will be willing to overpay, he never had any real leverage on his side

Pretty much the same age, NHL experience and pts...
So okay, give PK a bit more because he's our #1 dman, but not that much.

And how come Del Zotto has the same stats if he's only their #3 dman??? If PK is our 1st, he should have a lot more don't you think?

I still think Carlson is a good comparable.

Anyway, I don't care if they give 5M to PK, as long as it's not for 4 years.

A 4 years contract would bring him to 27...UFA. If he wants long-term, let him give up a couple of years of free agency.

they play MDZ on their stacked PP and the other 3 take up most of the regular D time to cover for any potential mistakes he makes, Subban on the other hand has all the pressure on him in all situations with Gorges with all the pressure on blocking shots and shutdown

but i mean mainly if you're trying to compare the powerhouse rangers to the Habs...thats not much to go on

If Subidoulidou is our #1... then we suck and cant compare to the cup contending Rangers.

no actually in the past 3 years MDZ couldnt even crack the rangers lineup long enough and when he did sure he put up 37 points but was a -20 and than got dropped down again the next year for inconsistency and now the 3 others have risen and now insulate MDZ, meaning he can play well surrounded by other good D, Subban has gotten better while our D has gotten either worse or more injured or both

so no i guess you dont get it, which is fine too

Halak gets all the easy games and Subban doesn't get all the easy chances.

Ah makes sense Subban should get paid more than MDZ because Subban is much better yet are almost similar in point production.
