The Canadiens reported pre-lockout "bridge deal" offer of a two-year, $5.5 million deal to Subban is nowhere even close to the numbers that are actually being discussed. The Havs know it will take more than that to get Subban signed. It has been widely rumored that Subban is seeking a contract in the neighborhood of what Drew Doughty got in Los Angeles (eight years, $56 million). Again, I see the Myers deal as more of a benchmark.

You do realize that Kaberle had 22pts with the habs in 43 games, right?
While Emelin had 7 over the entire season... - Pecafan Fan
You do realize that six defensemen fill different roles on your blue line. I couldn't care less about 22 points Kaberle scored in 43 games. I'd never replace Emelin with him. They fill different roles.
Last year, the blue line was crippled by Markov's injury. With Markov in the lineup, with Subban and Diaz, would you start Kaberle over any of those three??
Maybe Diaz, if he's not producing on the pp.
I'd rather see Diaz skate a regular shift than Kaberle, he's much more reliable in all situations than Kaberle is. Don't know who wouldn't...
I'm not saying Kaberle won't play, but I don't have him in my top six, and I'd never play him instead of Emelin, Gorges or Bouillon.

I have a feeling le jeune Vébaire will get traded for a 3rd round pick before the end of training camp
