of course but what changed in this CBA that really is effecting him, the 4 year deal he signed last year can very well be his last, is he worried about being bought out? - hamiltonhabfan
I doubt it has anything to do with his contract and as much to do with his wife being unhappy in MTL...or him being unhappy with mgmt. I wouldn't cry if he punched Therrien out. |

I didn't care for the way he poop on Hamrlik and think this is pretty poopty news as I was really happy to finally see a guy play like that last year for the Habs. Whatchogonnado? |

Woke up this morning to discover water damage on my bedroom ceiling. Turns out the radiator upstairs is leaking. There goes my fun today..... - muffin_man

meh. you can only hope that once the puck drops they stop thinking about all this and start playing.
I can't blame guys for being morose after not having played for so long. guy hasn't played a meaningful game since november 2011 |

ya to be honest I don't care about players saying I want to be traded but this story he's is using the CBA as some excuse, saying retirement lines kills his value in a trade |

He is blaming the new CBA and the escrow % he will have to pay. I understand the family issues with moving but coming out with this the day before training camp starts will achieve nothing. If he wants to be traded, talk to the Habs Mgmt, not the media. |

I agree and I'd also be pissed if I was signed to a contract that was partially reneged on a year later as well, especially after a season like last year. Having said that I hate when players air this poop publically. |

Cole = 4.5 M$
Kaberle = 4.25M$
Gomez = 7.36M$
16.11M$ in cap space available
without a contract next summer:
Armstrong (UFA) = goodbye
Desharnais (RFA) = they will sign him, money will depend on what kind of season he has, should be looking at a good raise (salary for this season is 850K)
White (RFA) = Won't be qualified, goodbye
Nokelainen (UFA) = goodbye
Bouillon (UFA) = Really doubt he gets another contract at 38
Weber (RFA) = will be traded before the end of the upcoming training camp
Budaj (UFA) = Goodbye
so, basically, they need to go for a backup goalie and some sandpaper next summer at least...with the money that's left (putting in mind that the cap is coming down as well), they can get some scoring up front. Also, Galchenyuk might make the team, his entry level contract is not very kind on the cap with the bonuses (3,225M$). It's very hard to evaluate how much money will remain. |

Also, Montreal media need to realize that Armstrong is not a tough guy, he is a wussy. |

I'd be finding a way to make Cole happy. The rest of them can be dealt with after they've showed what they can bring this year. |

He's going to get paid around $4M for next year. Since his only gripe was the money issue, how is that not enough?
He's a douche for ever leaving Carolina in the first place. We knew when he signed it'd be Edmonton 2.0 really quickly |

What did Carolina offer him to stay? and I don't think it is just money. Maybe he already spoke with MB and didn't like the line he was slinging. |
