You got the horses and Kentucky hoops down there in Bluegrass Country to tide you over until hockey starts!

No I don't...see my other post about new babies and dissertations Thank goodness for beer...and soon for some hockey to go with said beverage.

I did get some casual skating in with my 3.5 year old over the holidays. He likes to get on the ice.

I agree with Bill's take. I would not trade Couturier for Subban, but I would probably, reluctantly, give up Brayden Schenn in a deal to land him.

There's a rumor that PK re-signed with the Habs, 4 years $22mm, but unconfirmed...and no major reporter is reporting it yet

I am much higher on Brayden Schenn then Sean Couturier.

I don't want to see either of those guys go. They need D help but I gotta think that, as long as the team is in the playoff mix, Holmer will pull off some kind of stopgap (or better) fix. As long as the third pair is more solid than Lilja/Gervais after the deadline, they should be able to make a bit of noise. Then assess and address in the offseason.

As much as I like BS, I cant say I agree with that at all. But it makes sense that you say that, because otherwise you would have to change your name to SuperCooter or something.

I would do a B Schenn/Subban deal. Do not know if they would. This is going to be such a screwy offseason. Who the heck knows who will be available?

I am high on both, but I think that Couturier has a slightly higher ceiling, because of his defensive prowess.

Both are going to have to produce more on offense this season. I do agree with you about Couturier (two way player). Kid reminds me of Jordan Staal.

Wide speculation on the blogosphere that as soon as transactions can be announced, the Flyers will announced that the have signed defenseman Kurtis Foster

They took off E.Wellwoods legs and donated them to Foster. He will be fine.

Not even a little bit.

Foster is basically a homeless guy's Pavel Kubina. He's got a great shot, works hard and has a good attitude. He's also slower than Jody Shelley, is injury prone, not especially good in his own end and despite being 6'5" 225 lbs, isn't very physical.

I worry that the shot will see him get PP time, and against an aggressive PK unit, Foster could be a huge liability.

I will admit, he gets the shot off more quickly than most guys with "big" shots. Like JvR had a cannon, but it took forever for him to wind up and blast. Foster definitely gets the shot off faster than a lot of guys

Shame for your pal, it's legendary.

Here's my thing, it's like advertised in the paper. They have "hot girl massages" or what have you and it's basically letting you know that you get the whole package without it being literally said in words. So suddenly one of the higher ups just decided to stick his nose in? When this has been going on since my dad was my age, even younger? That higher up must have had a bad experience..

Your high on something all right.( I kid. I kid.)

Right now Schenn hasnt shown much at all at the NHL level(injuries, I know) whereas Coots has proven he can effectively PK and shut down top lines.

They should have known better than to hire McCrossin as a masseuse, though I bet he looks fab-o in a geisha outfit.
