Sekera, Adam, and a 1st is the new Ryder, Halak, and a 2nd. - dadeadhead
I don't see Darcy moving on this for several reasons. The biggest now being that there's no guarantee he won't take off back to the KHL when he gets frustrated by something. Honestly, it doesn't leave a good taste in my mouth so it's understandable. I wouldn't want to give up a bunch to end up with a guy who next time his contract needs to be reworked ends up doing the same thing. I don't know that the risk/reward is high enough in this case.

Go back to the last 3 months before the 04 lockout, and the 05-07 period, Peters fit because we had the team around him. Peters had a role, to being a brick headed goon. The team otherwise was fast on O and solid on D. Plus the league has since weeded out the fighters. So in todays game Peters is useless. - Buffalo--Sabres
Not going to argue but the only reason Peters played as much as he did for us in 06/07 was do to injuries and 07/08 because the 2 best players on the team walked away for nothing in July. I stand by my statement that he is the worst NHLer in the history of the NHL. I had no use for him then and have no use for him now. I'm glad he found something to do with his life after hockey. Doesn't mean I have to listen or like him.

I appologize for having dragged on a conversation about Andrew Peters for that long.

He would have gone to Carolina for nothing in return to Pittsburgh if he hit free agency though - shanekern03
And O'reilly could stay and the KHL and the Av's get nothing whats the difference?
If we are trading for a top6 center I highly doubt we would give up a current 1.

Too much. Staal went for less - sbroads24
Staal went for the same maybe a little more when all is said and done. A guy that is a 2nd line center on most teams, will get 45/50points, will be a lock down center on that team, with the 8th pick a guy on defense that if he works out will be a top 2/3 guy, and Brian Dumoulin who also projects as a top 4 guy.

I don't think that would even be enough.
Colorado would want Grigorenko, Ennis, +, is my guess.
If Colorado accepted your deal, Darcy better do it in less then 3 seconds. - kingcong39
Sorry, I'm unsure, but would we even have to trade for O'Reilly? I thought he was a restricted free agent so couldn't we just offer him a contract? Or is it too late to do that?

The difference is right now until he comes back they hold his rights. That means if/when he decides to come back he's theirs.

He wasn't good for much
- keptupl8
When he broke McGratton orbital bone and when he scored an empty netter he celebrated like he just won the Stanley Cup. The vets were pissed at him and after the game his response (paraphrasing) was they can be mad I don't care. I may never score another goal.
