'coots' has 27 points in 77 NHL games.. Luongo has olympic gold medals and played his team to game 7 of the finals.

since when does 27 points in a rookie season make a player the next bloody gretzky?

and yes leafs fans, we get it, reilly is awesome and isnt going anywhere and is the future of the franchise.. most of you said the same damn thing about schenn a couple years ago.

I wouldn't trade Couturier for Luongo straight up!
- The-O-G

Ok let's evaluate that trade for once second!
Flyers receive a solid goalie, yes. They receive a player who is virtually USELESS to us in Raymond, and ok we receive Ballard, a #4 dman, who also has a high cap hit, and whom is most likely going to be bought out at the end of this year!

Vancouver receives a future Selke Nominee, who is a top prospect in the game, one of THE BEST playoff performers of the past DECADE, and also a 2nd line centre in Danny, and a 1st round pick in a very deep draft!

Scooby Doo takes a huge shame to th cartoon. Scooby is the best cartoon ever made IMO, he brings a shame to it. Horrible horrible troll he is!

I don't think anyone is saying Gretzky but he does have the potential to be one of the best all-around centers in the league.

Because Philly has so many strong forwards he played 3rd line minutes in Philly in his rookie season so it's not like we should expect to see any sort of significant point production out of him. He's big and strong, has a great +/- and is an unreal penalty killer.

haha.....maybe we could take Simmonds and Couturier and Philly could just buy Bryz out next season?

Sound good?

I like you
And actually, he played on the FOURTH line for more than 65 games of the season. Not 3rd line, 4th line with guys like Eric Wellwood and Zac Rinaldo.

Kids 19 and he was the best PKer on the team. I've heard other fans rave of his PK skills.

Flyers have something special in him. Cnt wait to see what he can do with more skilled players this year

The Flyers are a pretty fun team to watch so I managed to catch quite a few of their games last year. I have always been impressed with Couturier. He's a future captain somewhere for sure if it's not in Philly.

Danny will miss 3+ games, so in those games he'll be centering Schenn and Simmonds, then when Danny gets back he'll be playing with Read and Fedotenkto/Talbot

Nobody said he'd be the next Gretzky lol. It's been forever since Flyers have had a prospect like him. Nobody expected him to make it last year and nobody could say anything bad about him at seasons end

OMG Ek, your comparing the Hawks when Tallon got axed to the Leafs of 2013? The only similarity is that each team axed their GM's, that's where it ends. When Tallon got axed the Hawks had Toews, Kane, Kieth & Seasbrook just to name a few. Just looking at the roster of when the Hawks won in 2010, Leafs are not even ckose to that for a LONG time to come.

Van would love it but makes no sense for Cal. They'll burn Feaster in efigy in Calgary if he ever made that deal.

When Couturier fell to 8th overall, it's like the Flyers won the lottery!!!!!! He's going to be a beauty/ Like u said, just the fact that he stuck with the Flyers, speaks VOLUMES about how good he is.

I don't think you're being sarcastic, so thanks

I know I'm gonna sound like a homer but I think he will end up being the best all round FW in that draft. His point production won't be as good as RNH, Huberdeau, Landeskog, etc but I truly believe he's going to be a future Selke winner. It's awesome how well his defensive instincts are. Thrilled to have him

Of these 2 scenarios should have happened:

The new MSLE should have A) Let Burke GM for the 48 games, if the Leafs don't make the playoffs, than fired Burke & his ENTIRE staff.

or B) Name Nonis as an interim GM for 48 games. At season's end, MSLE than can decide to keep Nonis on as full time GM & keep the whoels staff or fire Nonis & his staff. MSLE than has the whole off season to do an exstensive search for a new GM.

However a week b4 the season to fire Burke & make his #1 man the NEW Gm makes ZERO sense to me.

Was totally serious about the Bryz proposal, though.
