I'm loving that we could finally speculate on possible trades again but certain names I would deem untouchable to keep the body of the core together. Giroux, Couturier, the Schenn brothers and I would actually place Simmonds within that mix. Anything else, I am in favour of whatever makes the team better. I still stings me that we lost jvr but at the same time I wouldn't be upset if we gave up Cousins and Laughton for something much bigger. This is just me though. Briere, Hartnell, Coburn and Timonen I would never want to see go only because I love the player.

Spent the end of a show talking Philly buying out Bryzgalof on the Fan Toronto. They don't know anything but it's interesting that Toronto is talking about it. So it's not just in Philly folks!

I know the Flyers have deep pockets but honestly, I can't see them eating that much money. but who knows

stoked for the season, but other than Luongo rumors, scheduling possibilities, and injury status, maybe you guys can help me with one other question...

WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH THE $8 GAINED IN INTEREST FOR MY PARTIAL SEASON TICKET PLAN!!!????

i'm thinking A/C. thoughts?

10 Habs Flyers Questions

1) Build me two powerplay units, and tell me why they'll bring the Habs Flyers out of 28th whatever they were in the league in that category.

How would you use each player?

2) Are you keeping Galchenyuk Briere at center? In what role? If not, why?

3) Where does Lars Eller Matt Read fit on this team?

4) Who are your top six defensemen, and what are your pairings?

5) Does Louis Leblanc Matt Walker have a place on the team out of training camp?

6) How many games will Peter Budaj Michael Leighton play?

7) How does Subban's Giroux's contract get settled? What do you believe the specifics will be?

8) Will the Canadiens Flyers make the playoffs? If so, how?

9) Who will lead the Canadiens Flyers in points this season?

10) Who will be the biggest surprise on the Habs Flyers this year?

(sorry this was the toughest one of these yet. #5 and 7 pretty much make no sense. #2 had to be tweeked)

It'll come down to priorities and how angry Snider is about the kook he pressured Holmgren into acquiring. There might be some make good to be done to unburden the GM from the contract. They have a cap to meet and a certain future Captain to retain along with a boat load of ELCs that will come up in the next couple years.

One of the guys in TO talked to Cicconne and he said he got the word from Bobby Lou's agent. We all know what that's worth.

If they buy out Bryzgalov in July, it will cost them $23mm, spread over 14 years.

Michael Leighton is the back up. The Flyers aren't trading for Luongo, though.

If they do, I would be 10 times more stunned than when they traded Carter & Richards within an hour of one another. There's not really a deal that makes sense for the Flyers to trade for him.

I agree. But this franchise has proven to make some crazy bold moves. From Richards, Carter to Weber.

Holmgren loves to shock people.

Richards, Carter & Weber at least made sense. Acquiring Luongo just doesn't fit.

There is absolutely no way the Flyers trade for Luongo. Now if this summer you guys are still sitting on him and his contract and you want to buy him out I'm sure there will be more than just a little consideration given to buying out our current wackado and signing yours for fewer years and dollars.

That is true, Holmgren's not afraid of the big, bold move. But few of those have not had some sensible reason behind them.

The Carter & Richards moves freed up cap room to address the goaltending spot. It also provided scoring depth & allowed flexibility to add pieces. It also freed Claude Giroux to become the man, offensively.

The Weber move basically replaced all that was lost when Chris Pronger got injured. There's no other defenseman that could singlehandedly replace what Pronger brought to the table. If he's healthy, there's no sheet to Weber.

Luongo may be an upgrade on Bryzgalov, but it's not going from Stephane Beauregard to Ken Dryden. The other thing is, a lot of the perceived weaknesses of Bryzgalov are mentioned in discussing Luongo-not being a money goalie, being somewhat of a head case, lack of playoff success-whether fair or not.

Luongo isn't even a thought in my mind. I feel we need a top defenseman to possibly replace Timonen and a top winger to play with Giroux. I have brought up the name Bobby Ryan but I would be over the moon to get Chris Stewart. I find Chris Stewart to be very underrated.

I'm looking forward to watching Jake Voracek blossom in that top line Winger slot playing with Giroux.

I think those two could be serious trouble for other teams. Voracek got a ton of attention last year in the playoffs. Elias even going as far to say he was the second best player on the team.

Voracek is clearly a gifted player but until he convincingly scores 20 plus goals and 50 plus points in two seasons, I would rather upgrade if possible. I just don't like his price tag. With Bouemeester, at least he's done things for his own personal stats to fool us all. For the moment, we are still waiting on that break out season for Jake. I feel it should have happened by now.
