But if Horcoff leaves, who will fans blame all their problems on?
- Maxbone

Belanger. It seems to work well for you.

Sorry, I forgot Iggy is 7 years past his prime and Flames fans wouldn't be able to identify with a comment like this.

I never mentioned the Flames, you are the one obsessed with dissing them.

I laughed that you actually believe you have 6 players the same quality of Rick Nash..... I know you do it for shock, but it is such a stupid comment even for a shock blogger.

Did you mean Tyson Nash??

is absolutely absurd
id take 3 kessels over seguin any day

keep 1 and trade the other 2 for a Seguin type

so ya i call bull poop

1 A+ asset
or
3 A assets

hmmm

id rather have Seguin over RNH though

- poohcrumbs

I realize it was a beyond stupid comment by this donkey of a blogger, but you're just being a troll saying you'd rather have Seguin than Hopkins...

Tyler Seguin = Potential a Top 5 center in the NHL

Phil Kessel = A Top 30 goal scorer who has girl arms

Saying three Kessels are worth more than a Seguin is like saying Martin Gelinas, Jimmy Carson, three bad 1st round picks and $15mil are worth more than Gretzky.

- Maxbone

Phil Kessel = 6th highest for points in the league, 7th for goals. He also has Bozak as a centre and no good puck moving defensemen. To say he isn't a superstar player is just stupid. 3 Kessels would give you a total of 246 points in a season, which is more than any player has every received in a season so not taking 3 Kessels is like not taking Gretzky.

Wait, you think Hall, Eberle, Nuge, Yakupov, Schultz and Klefbom aren't as good hockey players as Rick Nash is?

Eberle is what, 17 years old, and he already has a season with as many points as Nash's career high. Eberle isn't as good as Nash, he's better than Nash.

Rielly and Gardiner are absolutely stars.
- Maxbone

If so.....would oilers offer up RNH for either of these two? Not saying straight up even....Toronto needs a young star forward.....the oilers, with the addition of Schultz, have improved D .....but if either of those TO kids are projected to be that good....would oilers untouchables change.....just a question?

Are you seriously implying that the leafs, who were a top 10 team for offense, and a bottom 10 for goals against, need to figure out their forwards?

i would agree that most of them have a much higher upside than nash, but thats really not saying much since nash is one of the most overhyped players around right now

Lots of rumors out there that Burke didn't want Luongo and ownership insisted.
- Maxbone

I can almost hear the conversation....

Present in Board room..... Burke, Nonis and the board:

The board: Brian, we want you to acquire Luongo

Burke: It's not a good acquisition, price too high, contract too long.

The Board: Do it or lose your job!

Burke: I'm sorry, you will have to fire me, I don't believe in those contracts, I
fought against them, and have been very vocal against them. I would
look like a hypocrite. If I was going to trade for a bad contract, I would
have gotten Jeff Carter at the deadline for our #1 C.

The Board: Then Brian..... Youre FIRED.

The Board: Mr. Nonis...... do you want the GM job.

Nonis: Yes

The Board: Then Deal for Luongo and it's yours, or follow your mentor Brian out
the door.

Why is that so off? Sequin had slightly better junior stats, already has a 29 goal NHL season and is probably more durable than RNH.

I would take either as they are pretty close in almost all areas.

The issue in Toronto certainly is in goal. As much as people like to harp on the Leafs lack of top 6 forwards (in truth, top 3 is the issue, they have plenty of 2nd liners) they score at a reasonable pace. The problem has been the number of goals allowed and, in particular, goals allowed at the worst possible times. Having said all that, if the price for Luongo is now Kadri and Gardiner as has been reported, no thanks.
