Timing of Burke dismissal very odd. He and all brass were at Marlies game last night in Hamilton. Truth will surface. Something fishy.

Career advice for all: Never get drunk at a game and call your boss a Richard.
Also, never make a bet with your boss. Never play poker with your boss. And never sleep with your bosses wife (or if your a girl, I guess husband).

I'm pretty sure that if you are sober at a game and call your boss a Richard, it is no big deal.

How does Bob M break this story? Isn't Dreger's brother in law Dave Nonis the GM of the Marlies? I would assume he gets elevated to GM of the Leafs.

System has been doing this to me all day.

Perhaps they changed my settings to elite status, giving the viewers my posts x 2.

On the other hand, my permission is denied when I try to delete the extra posts, perhaps indicating I am ready to be banned.

Nonis is in as GM. Bob McK broke that, too...although he didn't know if it's permanent or interim

Interesting. I wonder if there is some sort of confidentiality rules Dreger has to adhere to with all things Leafs. No question he knew about this before anyone in the media.

I never talk to my brother-in-law. He lost his job and I didn't know for a month.

From his lone tweet, he seemed to not know it was coming. He just said it sounds fishy

EDIT: He just added that Nonis is the full time gm of the Leafs, so it seems permanent.

I'm assuming because of Dreger's profession he probably speaks to him often. Who knows.

Very strange timing. Could coaches/GM's be fired during the lockout? Is that permitted?

I don't get it. Is this a demotion for Burke? Did they have a "senior advisor" prior to today? Seems like they are just inventing a title so Burke can save face.

Burke is still under contract for two years...until he takes a job elsewhere, he's a "Senior Advisor"

Exactly. If they have to pay him, might as well have him scrub the poopters.
