I got all 22 films starring Crims' mom for Christmas. Beta-max version only. Who wants one?

With all these support groups (dubi, jt, kreider) I think its time for me to start the Stu Bickel appreciation club. You can appreciate the guy enough. Crappy ability, crappy salary, barely plays, is the brunt of torts fury.... but he brings it every day. #respect.

Who's with me!?!?

Anyone?

it's all good TPC. Really think Miller at least desrved to a Camp invite. You know what else I saw, Matt Gilroy was with the team and the practice today. He better no get a camp invite.

I don't think Gilroy makes the team, I doubt they carry 8 dmen. But he is good insurance to have in case of injury....or if the powerplay struggles during the season, he could be an option.

I certainly don't hate Bickel. He's never going to be Bobby Orr. However, like you said he plays his ass off in his limited ice time, and is willing to stick up for his teammates no matter what.

I think he can also play forward, if I remember correctly?

And we have really no forward depth outside the roster. No guys like Zucc or EC who can play in HFD and get called up in case of injury. So its worthwhile to have him in the organization.

I am surprised he couldnt get a contract to actually play somewhere... I thought he did well in Tampa...

Only lasted half a year with tampa before they shipped him to Ottawa last year...then I think he was in and out of the lineup.

Oh yeah, you are right. I am rusty with my knowledge after the lockout.

Remember all the hype surrounding his signing? Pretty funny in retrospect...

Yea I still love his skating ability and passing skills, but his shot is weak and he is soft as a player....just doesn't translate well.

I think he is only 28, for his sake and the Rangers, hopefully he can turn it around and become at least a serviceable player in the NHL

Edit: This was in response to your post Rags2Riches

I was hopeful Gilroy could help but he's been horrible in Hartford. The games I've seen he's been a turnover machine. Yeah, he's scoring some points but not enough to overlook his abysmal play in his own zone.

Yea that is what I have been hearing to...kind of surprising he got the call to training camp. Maybe Torts just wants to see him up close.

He is the most experienced guy we have down there. McIlrath should probably play rest of season in Connecticut.

Yea McIlrath has either been hurt, suspended or sitting in the penalty box. I kind of want to see him play some actual hockey first before he takes the next step haha

Hello, strangers. Welcome back to hockey. I haven't seen any Rangers hijack the headlines stuff today. Get to work on that, okay?

You can't play Redden at all. If he gets hurt, he can't be bought out next summer. I think that is why the Rangers had a face to face with him. The option is either void your contract or sit out to next offseason
- TPC

Hey, wait a minute. If he is hurt he can get put on the LTIR, right?

When he is on the LTIR, he can't be bought out...but his salary does not count against the cap. (Don't forget he is on an under 35 contract, unlike Pronger...yessss).

So, when he comes off the LTIR, put his butt out then. Is it the law you have to buy a player out in the summer or can you buy him out at any time during the next two seasons?
