n the NY Post, Larry Brooks writes that a meeting last Saturday between Gary Bettman, lawyer Bob Batterman and Coyotes Captain Shane Doan laid the groundwork for the two sides to reach a tentative agreement.

Doan explained that the players weren’t asking for a salary cap of $64.3, the league was offering $62.5, so that they could get more money, but instead so that fewer players would have to be uprooted and have their lives altered.

Doan pleaded with Bettman that it wasn’t about money, but instead about family.

Brooks writes that Bettman was impressed with Doan’s plea and the owners moved to $64.3 and settled one of the last remaining roadblocks.

It's true though. It all gets fixed in escrow anyway. Cap doesnt matter much.

hey, question, what were the Flyers going to do if Nashville didn't match Weber's contract?

Flyers cap would be at about 75 million right now.

Nashville did them a favor.

no worst than Bryz's NMC, and Briere's NMC, Timmo's NMC and Pronger's 35+ cap friendly deal. Flyers in good shape.

Flyers did the entire East a favor by keeping Weber out of the conference for his entire career.

You need step up your game, because your material is stale and boring. So, put aside your frustration of the Flyers having a worse record against the Rangers recently than the Washington Generals have against the Harlem Globetrotters, and come up with something that will at least amuse us. You're better than this!

I dont think Torts can be there. And Torts visited this NYU team and coach for practice an gave them tips on how to practice. Now its the other way around. What a dream come true for that guy huh? Apparently its a club team too so not even NCAA, how sick is that for that guy.

Woo-Hoo! My brother got our Rangers season tickets in the mail today!

Tickets for the first 10 home games. No dates on them, just home game 1, home game 2, etc.

Won't be long now.

Kovalchuk openly saying that he wants to stay in Russia but he has contractual obligation in the NHL, he is the most selfish small time cancer in the NHL today.

Honestly, that sounds like something a cheating husband would tell his mistress to make her feel better when he goes back to his wife.

I hate to say it, but I think Kovalchuk will be back with the Devils and will be a pain in the ass.
