I'm happy about Ott. Scott probably never cracks the lineup. If he does, it'll be for like 2 minutes maybe 10 times this year.

I think Scott will play more than you think, he's a tough SOB someone that we def need to have around.

Foligno is more important because of the physical factor he brings. Vanek doesn't matter so much as long as everyone else is producing. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they could get something good for him. In a lot of ways, we don't need him. But we do need a big time center.
- HonkFortheGoose

I really don't agree with that. I think Vanek is a stud. I like Vanek so much more than Pominville. 26 gets too much hate because he can't fly like other players. He's the most natural goal scorer we have and he works his ass off while taking a beating. If Vanek isn't on, this team goes nowhere. He's a huge powerplay presence and he's one of the few players with individual skill that not many players in the league have.

I would have given him the C last year. I think he would have run with it.

Honestly, you'd be surprised what you can get for Leo. He's a solid guy that can log pretty big minutes. He's not going to win you games, but he's not generally going to lose them for you either. For a team like Philly that really just needs help because of the injuries they had, he'd be a decent option because his contract is up at the end of the year.

They were talking on the radio about how McNabb has been a healthy scratch recently but I don't think that has anything to do with his play per say as it does the fact that they have a lot of options back there and with the schedule getting more intense they've been rotating them in and out to keep all of them involved. Pysyk was a healthy scratch on the 28th and then played the 29th. That being said, I'm not interested in trading away either of them. That pair is going to be a formidable bunch in another year or two.

I think Edmonton would be wise in looking for a veteran D-man like Leopold. They need a leader on the blue line, he wouldn't be their "best" defenseman but he is very experienced and reliable. Edmonton would make a good trading partner IMO.

Him and Lindy don't get along. There was no way he was getting the C. I think Pommer was a good choice. He's one of my favorites on the team. When Pommer is on, the rest of the team is in a better place. That's not always the case with Vanek.

That being said, if Vanek can find a groove and produce consistently, then the team will certainly be much better off. I won't deny that. I don't have a problem with Vanek. I think he's a great player. I said the whole time that we didn't need Nash because we have Vanek. But I don't think he's a key to the success of the team as the other 6 guys I listed.

He certainly made it sound like he's gotten a few calls. If you really listened to what he said he mentioned that he'd gotten calls, including one right before he went down for the press conference.

I don't think they do anything until they know the health of everyone, especially Myers, first.

Doesn't mean they like all 8. One of those 8 is Pardy if I'm not mistaken. I think they'd risk him to waivers before Brennan at this point. But if Myers is going to miss some time, that opens the door for Brennan

McNabb will be in Rochester unless the injury bug really bites.

Yeah. He's only in his 2nd year. It does depend a bit on how many games he plays at the NHL level as well, but for the most part any guy in their entry level 3 year deal can go without waivers. It's a lot more complicated than that, but it's the basic idea.

Pardy will get sent to Rochester.

And if Myers is gonna miss a few weeks, they'll put him on IR. That brings you down to 7.

Buffalo gave up 35 more points this year then the cowboys on D

This firing gives Garrett one last season to win a playoff game IMO

" I inherited a team that was 31st in the league in defense and made them better. I (expletive) made them a hell of a lot better. I'll be out of work for like five minutes."
