I think they like Weber more than Brennan...either way neither are really a 'factor" - Homer
Any new rumblings today that haven't been discussed yet? |

No. I doubt that would work though. Really the Jets DC is just a title. Rex calls all the defensive plays. That's why I don't want the guy that's been there the last few years. - HonkFortheGoose
I doubt Rob would play in his brother's division ethier |

Your point is his minor penalties and bad second half make him deserving of criticism. Sure, he deserves criticism, not hate.
The team isn't better without Vanek, unless you bring in a guy who scores 40.
He didn't have a good second half. Does that mean you discount the excellent first half where he had 39 points before January 1? You can't say he sucked in the second half but ignore the great first half. - PassionBucket16
Who said I hate him? I don't, he is just overpaid and frustrating to watch sometimes. You said he gets "hate" because he doesn't fly around the ice, I gave the reasons why he frustrates me. When he is on his game he is a super star. I just think he has a tendency to disappear, that or he cant handle playing banged up |

Have the jets hired their DC yet ? Maybe he will unite with his brother - Pegullaville
Yes they promoted their DB coach to DC. WGR said that on air this afternoon. |

Understandable. I can't wait to step into the FN Center for a Sabres game. I went to both Amerks games, but it's still not the same. I want to sit in my seat. And cheer for the boys in Blue and Gold. |

so pretty close in points, but I think Pommer does more things.
This sounds weird but I think Pommer is a better overall player (its close) but I like Vanek more. Vanek is more fun to watch and can dominate at time, Pommer is more consistent. |

Oh yeah. I did hear that. Like I said, the DC there is really just a title. They don't have that much impact because Rex makes the defensive calls anyway. |

I like both players because of what they bring, and essentially they do bring offense, but they do it it much different ways. |

You probably heard already but Black said the home opener will be Sunday the 20th. Probably right during the AFC or NFC Championship game |

He will see 3rd line minutes this year plus penalty kill time. I think his overall game is under rated. - sbroads24
Our penalty killing goes downhill when he's out. He needs to stay in the lineup.

Cowboys fire Rob Ryan..........wow I guess 6 starters out means nothing - SABRES 89
The best thing that the Cowboys could do is if Jerry fired himself. I hate the Cowboys more then anything in the world so their demise is hysterical in my eyes |

Jan 1st-31st 2012 Vanek had 2 points in 12 games and was a minus 6.
I'd call that disappearing. |

Not really, It shows that Pommer is much more consistent. Not to mention the fact he is all around a better defensive player. |

Yeah I did hear that. I split my seasons 4 ways, so there's no guarantee I'd get the first game anyway. My new work schedule leaves me available for pretty much any game, so I'm not too picky about what games I get. I'll be flexible for the sake of some of the others that do the tickets with us. |

Vanek can make plays that 95% of the players in the NHL wish they could make, he is a under rated playmaker and has vision and creativity. I think his struggles are almost like a writer having writers block. He seems to lose the creativity and his ability to improvise for long stretches. It's on Ruff to get him to go back to the basics and just fire shots at the net |

wow, somebody that says anyway instead of anyways when I go i dont really care who we play either. I'm there to see the Sabres play, have a few beers and hang out with a friend or two...who they play is a non factor for me for the most part. |
