my point is, MOST fans live by the "what have you done for me lately" saying.

if visnovsky comes back and plays well, fans will forgive and forget.

they're both bad situations. Neither guy should have tried to avoid coming to Long Island. Neither guy had a leg to stand on in arguing that they shouldn't report.

Visnovsky tried to get out of coming to Long Island and lost. He should just be professional and come back across the pond for four months and fulfill his contractual obligation. Then, he can stay in Europe for the rest of his life if he wants to.

Nabby's situation warranted a tolling of his deal and if Visnovsky doesn't smarten up and report, his contract should be tolled too. The Isles can't set a bad precedent by showing they'll cave to guys who sit out. They did a good job in how they dealt with Nabby. I would expect more of the same with Visnovsky.

Not sure what my point was either...I guess that I have about as much loyalty to Nabby as I do to Vis...they could play well, but I'm not one of those people chanting, "Nabby! Nabby!" just because he puts forth a halfway decent effort at the Coliseum. If he backstopped the Isles to the playoffs and became a core part of the team, maybe he'd grow on me. I'll tolerate these people if they play well enough, but the sooner we stop going after 35+ year olds who don't even want to come here, the better as far as I'm concerned.

Some fans. You guys really have to think more. Forcing players to play here that don't want to is in no way conducive to a rebuilding team. If Nabakov and Vis never saw the ice this year or played great then left this fan would not be cheering them either way. They don't belong on this team or any team for that matter because they are not about the TEAM they are about themselves. Quite a few fans don't roll over as easy as you guys.

I liked Martinek when he wasn't hurt don't get me wrong the guy is a good sound defenceman but KJ was one of the best Dman this team has seen in some time. Guy was steady he is sorely missed by this fan.

Getting Wiesnewski wasn't a great trade either...he was lucky he a got a 2nd round pick for him when he traded him to Montreal. The announcers on Hockey Night in Canada all were laughing on what a steal the Canadiens got. The Ryan Smyth trade was another winner. The guy didn't want to come here (sound familiar?) and then he bolted for free agency...

how do you figure?? Wishart is still playing hockey...what would roloson do for us right now?? Wishart at least have some sort of hockey value...may be minimal right now, but he has the potential!!

Roloson was good..no question. but the islanders werent going to win with or without him.
