He scored 6 goals in 7 games ,that is two less than the entire Canuck team scored in the SCF against Boston
- VANTEL

And I'd bet that he'd have zero goals and points in a 7 game series in the NHL against Boston.

Traditional slow starts for the Canucks AND Iginla with the Flames... Sorry.. Calgary ahead of the Oilers? Really.. REALLY... DO Do do... Can I have some of what your smoking please. Calgary won't be able to hold the Oilers jock strap this year.

I would assume the Canucks will play the Oil and Flames five times. Stick with the guys on TSN are saying. The Oilers out of all teams in the league have had the most players playing meaningful games...especially for their core.

I ain't picking the Oil to win any cup... but below Calgary.. seriously... not a hope. And the Canucks better hope they arent slow out of the gate.. The Oil won't be... And the Wild have a jacked team this year... And based on Babcock's interview on TSN the other night sounds like the Wings are ready to fly.

If the Canucks trade Luongo... unless Burke is an idiot.. the Canucks won't get full market value for him.. contract is way to big.. and sorry.. but Schneider is good.. but he's done nothing to prove to me he can win in the playoffs or carry the team for the entire season.

Canucks will be lucky if they can even get to the conference final.. but a Cup win.. maybe in 20 years... they are past their prime... they had their chance two years ago and screwed it up. They are done.. finito.. hausta la vista baby...

Actually I get to see the banners in Calgary and Edmonton. We have a box in Calgary and 6 seats on the glass in Edmonton. And those are Stanley cup banners, not just measly presidents trophy banners....

is it too soon to start the "yah but there were only 21 teams"

I doubt that Kesler is out for the season, we really only need to stay in the race until he gets back. Other teams in our division may have gotten stronger but keep in mind that they were well behind us these past few years so I highly doubt that they're going to turn the tables on us all of a sudden. Edmonton and Minny will have some pressure to start strong, Edmonton especially is becoming the sexy pick to start hot because of how a handful of their kids are lighting up the AHL together. Calgary and Edmonton also have new coaches and short camps to get their systems all sorted out. Colorado, Minny and Edmonton all also have question marks on defense which is one of our strong points.

This is going to be a short season . We are bringing our second line of Kassian and Schroeder who have a combined point total less than Justin Schultz. We don't have toughness ,we don't have great speed anymore, I am not sure how we look at this team as team to beat. It will be interesting to see after 10 games where we are .

Time will tell

If Canucks can get Wiess out of Fla that would be a big help.

Is he playing on the top line?
- Nucker101

I don't think so. The Haydar line seems to be carrying the load 5-5.

I think Columbus Blue Jackets prospect (defenseman) Tim Erixon is out scoring Schroeder?

I know I sound pestimistic but I am not enthused by this roster at all. They need some serious trades.

Gillis needs to get his sh!t together and put a second line out there or we're going nowhere! Some definite holes to be filled. Booth and Kesler have ZERO chemistry together, put Burrows on that line and maybe you've got something. But who knows, still no third line center, I have no faith in Malhotra...and by the sounds of it neither do the Canucks.

With Kesler all we really lack is one top 6 forward to play along side him and Booth, the rest of the team looks solid as long as our 4th line doesn't have Weise/Volpatti as a regular.

You guys are all going to be freaking out when AV starts the season with Ebbet centering Raymond and Booth as a our second line.

Booth was on pace for 20+ goals playing with Kesler. Burrows on that line would be interesting, but that's only possible if Kassian is paying with the Twins and IMO he's not ready for that yet. I still don't mind Manny as our 3LC(see my post earlier). Lappy needs some decent wingers for our 4th line and we need a top 6 forward.

I keep hearing the term we are built for now . Some argue that window has closed. I agree somewhat with the latter.

I think our first line matches up against any in the NHL and that is where the comparrisons stop. Even with a healthy Kesler who are his wingers? Do you honestly see them matching up against LA Philly Pens Boston NYR ,I know I would take any one of those mentioned teams 2nd line before ours . At this point I would take Gagner Hemsky and Yakupov over our current second line.

Besides Hansen who is on our third line and please don't say Higgens Malhotra .

Our 4 th line we agree it sucks too aside from Lapierre.

Just my opinion, but the same old same old is not gonna get it done. I'm not sold on Booth, and, the revolving door on the RW will need to be resolved. I'd rather put Kass with the Sedins, he's fast enough to play a puck possession game for the Sedins and he'll easily score on that line. Burrows was a third line player before they experimented with him up there and look what happened.

Booth Kesler Burrows, I like that as a second line more than I like Booth Kesler Kassian.

So if the rumours are true and we get Bozak, Frattin + 2nd... That's WAY more than our Leafs friends were saying, so we can go laugh at them...

Note: frattin has been arrested a few times, I'm sure he will get along with Kassian at the Roxy.

I agree that those teams have better second lines. Agree to disagree regarding Malhotra, I showed you the stats to back up why he's a good player in his role. I haven't seen a decent argument against that yet. Also not sure why you think Higgins is a bad third liner at all, he's been one of our most consistent players since he's been here.

4th lines can easily be fixed, look at the devils last year with Ryan Carter and Steve Bernier(who I wanted to sign for our 4th line). I'm still hopeful for a guy like Pinizzotto and we can call up Kassian down the stretch.

Biggest and quite frankly our only need is a 2nd liner to play with Kesler(when he's back) and Booth.

I think Kassian is still a year away from that kind of role, he needs another full year in the AHL and would make a good call-up for the last 10 games and playoffs for our 4th line. I have no problems with Booth, you can't really expect more than 20-25 goals from a second line winger. Burrows has been great with the Twins, I don't see that as a problem and I see him on the second line next year with Kassian on the top line.

That rumour started from a random account according to the Leafs fans. Frattin alone would be a great return, he was great in college and is lighting it up in the AHL, plus most of his goals are on even strength so it's not just PP driven stats on a good team. I highly doubt that Burke would be willing to give him up in a Luongo trade.
