Tampa probably only wants him if they can unload Vinny which is intriguing, but Vinny would just be a rental and would have to be expensively bought out this summer. Edmonton would be scary with Luongo, plus he'd be in our division.

He has a huge cap hit though and would put us over the cap, only way that would work is if Ballard/Booth gets moved too then. Not to mention that it would be pretty much impossible for him to be anything more than a rental for just this year. He's not the same player he was once, but still would make a great 1-2 punch after the Sedins with Kesler and Booth. He was great in the playoffs a couple of years ago.

One Monday morning a mailman is walking the neighborhood on his usual route.

As he approaches one of the homes he notices that both cars were in the driveway. His wonder was cut short by Bob, the homeowner, coming out with a load of empty beer and liquor bottles. "Wow Bob, looks like you guys had one hell of a party last night." the mailman comments.

Seems like a fair trade:

Lecavilier = Luongo

The age is close, the contracts are close. Tampa get their established goaltender, Vancouver get's their large centre that can score. What is the issue?

Of course! But would a team even take on that contract? I guess he becomes intriguing to a team with cap space that needs defensive depth and doesn't mind potentially buying him out if he continues to struggle. Totally agree that Vinny would be a great addition.
