Amazing how all of the Nuck'leheads swarm this blog, trying to justify our team to fix their mistake. You want to get rid of him to here? OK, here's the deal:

Loungo and a first rounder = Komiserek and Steckell. We don't want your baggage. Keep him. If Burke gives up assets for this dancing clown, then he needs to be fired or put in front of a firing squad. WE DON'T WANT HIM!!!!!!!

How the hell does anyone think a crystal football makes a good trophy?

It's stupid for so many reasons.

We dont even have an elite forward prospect, which is why this team should be patient.

Exactly! MacKinnon, Barkov, Monahan, Drouin, that Russian. If we take Luongo, we lose that opportunity. The year is half over, so what's another 4 months?

Dude, stop trying to convince me to want something youre trying to get rid of. You like it? Keep it.

Even if he doesnt play it all out, have you not been paying attention? There is still a cap hit. For both teams.

No Thank You.

No offense but In hindsight it makes sense for us to deal him to fill other spots in our line-up. We have two excellent NHL goaltenders you have three pretty good AHL goaltenders.

If I was the Leafs I'd be praying they land Luongo. Its literally an automatic playoff birth.

At what point will you realize he is a liability, not an asset?

Need to sleep on it?

Pot meet kettle ,Go to Esplen's blog count how many posts are by Leaf fans.

The only reason we are in both blogs is because there is nothing to talk about other than this , until the NHL officially hangs the sign "Open for Business" All this talk and speculation will be over in two weeks when teams know their final rosters.

No, we pray that you keep Luongo. We don't want an aging, on the downside of his career, 10 year contract that just plugs a hole for an up and coming goaltender. There may be a glut of good young goalies available, once teams start to shed contracts, when the cap falls, next year. WE DON'T WANT HIM!!!!!!!!

Why? So we can get banned by Micah? Why should we bother to banter over there. At least our Refs allow some latitude.

We want a cup winner, not a playoff spot. What about in years 6,7,8,9? Im sure you'd be praying for those good times too.

The goalie you're replacing Luongo with hasnt played a full season. Only 50 games.

So yea, keep Luongo.

And how exactly do you plan on getting a cup With a bunch of sharty goaltenders? It honestly seems like the only way the Leafs can get any talent is through trade because nobody worth while wants to sign with a losing club.

I did not say Lu helps you . I am telling him read the Leafs posts. Everyone here is hoping to miss the playoffs again for a draft pick

Lu won't help the Leafs make the playoffs they have too many other holes

Pretty hard to ban anybody, when no one was talking sh!t, due to the lockout. Now that there is hockey talk, there will be some banter and the bans will start. What you really need, is to put a bag tag on Luongo and put him out to the curb. That way he can be gone by Friday.

Looking for clarity from Leafs fans. I'm confused at how the Canucks were able to be such a good team with the likes of such awful goal tending, twin sisters and an overrated Ryan Kesler? If all these players are so bad, how was the team so good?

Ill make this as simple as I can for you Canuck fans to understand.

We do not want to take your problems. We dont want to be an old team with bare prospect cupboards, like we once were, and like your team is now. Signing players is not the answer. Not until a core is in place.

We want to win a cup.

In other words, we want to be patient and draft players like Fleury, Malkin, Crosby. Toews, Kane, Seabrook, Staal, Ward, Kopitar, Quick, Doughty etc etc etc like just about all Cup winning teams aside from Detroit do. (Lidstrom, Zetter, Dats...might as well add them too).

The answer is not to buy a team before we develop a team. The core needs to be young. Not mid 30's.

Dont try to sell us your broken model. As a Leaf fan, im aiming higher than taking the scraps and failed models of a cupless team.

get it?

Right! You make our case. Why should we give away good prospects, off of our roster and create more holes, for an aging goaltender that kills our chance at a decent draft pick, in a very deep draft? We are not getting in, with or without Luongo. All the teams that were close to us in the standings made better upgrades then we did, at the end of last season. You know, like Jordan Staal to Carolina? It'll be us and the Habs, fighting it out for last in the conference. Why bother to climb by the Islanders and maybe the Sens, to finish 9th or 10th and miss out on MacKinnon, Jones, Drouin, Monahan, Barkov, Katushkin? Get to the top 5 and guarantee yourself a star player.

Yeah, but Vancity is too scared to reply to me, so I'm forced to ask you.

Is the guarantee in the new CBA? Fehr agreed to it?

More importantly, is MJL down with it?

Im confused why you think all these players were so awful and over rated. Sure they all happen to be a bunch of queens, but why so down on them?

Back to back president's trophys and getting to game 7 of the Finals. Even you Leafs fans must admit that it takes an above average team to do that.
I understand Luongo's contract problems, but he's a terrific goalie. Just trying to encourage you guys to remove the Vancouver hate glasses.
