Pretty much every insider has said that Bozak would be part of the package. Do you consider that something worthwhile? - hertzman
I consider it a vast and ridiculous overpayment. Riemer is a better goalie than Connolly is centre, so what would the point of depleting one weakness to potentially stop-gap another?
I am not against getting Luongo, he isn't anywhere close to declining the way some people suggest, but its just wouldn't be smart to trade your best centre when you literally have no one to replace him. |

The premise of the decline isnt that it is impacting him now. It revolves around the basis that at 34, its not far fetched to expect it to begin any season now. Its also connected to the 10 year committment that comes with him.
The least of our problems should be worrying about replacing Tyler (frank)ing Bozak. |

bozak may be our first line center, but he is by no means our best center.
grabovski is 2nd line center but is much more talented.
that being said, i like bozak, just not as a #1 center...bring in Getzlaf, now that is a #1 C!! |

And Vancouver has won how many cups since 1967... that's right, the same as the leafs ...NONE!
Luongo is not as good as everybody (Vancouver fans) on this blog seems to think. He hasn't won a cup after two times at the dance and we (Canada) almost lost Olympic gold because of him.
If the leafs get him, they will fail longer.
Luongo sucks, there's no way Leaf fans want him. He wouldn't last one season in Toronto and the fans would eat him alive. - mr-b
So Lunqvist is no good either or Rinne? |

We dont even have an elite forward prospect, which is why this team should be patient. - systemtool
Actually, they have already have 2 elite forwards. Van Riemsedyk makes three and Grabovski is just under that level and Kadri will there soon. SO really, they have 4 and a half elite forwards.
DO they have a Malkin, Stamkos, Crosby or Ovechkin? No, but then again, only 3 teams do. |

I said prospects. Grabovski and JVR are not prospects. Nor are they elite. Same with Kadri (prospect yes, elite no)
I wouldnt sell Toews, Doughty, Quick, Kopitar, Kane etc short either. They brought their teams cups. What do all the names we mentioned have in common? They were drafted and developed. (aside from the Leaf players, of course) |

Overall, I would argue Bozak is better than Grabovski. Not as skilled or flashy with the puck, but he's better defensively, a better passer, a much better penalty killer and more disciplined. As for Getzlaf, it is bizarre to me how some players lose their shine after one year (for insance Luongo is only a year removed from a cup and one lockout removed from back to back Presdent's trophys) and yet, Getzlaf has actually been pretty much garbage for 3 years. Last year he had less points than Grabovski, I am pretty sure. |

Both are younger, and not signed to a deal that even a poopfaced, concussed, mentally handicapped hobo could identify as stupid. |

And you have none. Which is why people assume the Leafs are part of the Luongo equation. - hankthetank
Schneider has a 2.24GAA and .928Save% in 68games...
Reimer has a 2.83GAA and .911Save% in 71games...
Now look at the teams they are on, one was at the top of the NHL standings, one was at the bottom. Yet you guys continually state Schneider is more than capable of being a #1, while the Leafs should throw Reimer aside and bring in Luongo.
I wonder how those numbers above would differ if they switched teams. |

JVR is pretty much a prospect. Kadri is definatley going to be an elite player. Have you seen him handle the puck? Hes going to be a ppg player in the NHL, and that makes him elite. |
