Ehhh... Staal already won a cup. I would say it would be different if he was mid 30's and wanted to win but this was his opportunity and im sure he was thankful Pitt allowed him that opportunity. He would have had to sign for less money most likely, I just think it was pretty obvious he was gonna be moved. If I was a Pitt fan I would have absolutely hated to see him get traded

There was only 2 options where Staal is concerned. He was either going to sign in Pittsburgh, or he was going to end up in Carolina. Period. Shero did a brilliant job considering that had Carolina waited 1 more year they could have gotten him without having to give up anything.

If they get the season started on the 15th it will be a 50 game season and I don't think they have set the schedule yet. Teams will only play within their conference only, so no Sabre games vs. west. And who knows what the lines are with Ruff. I heard Wednesday camps will open.

It seems odd to me that there's a schedule there but not on NHL.com or any of the team sites.

EDIT: This can't be the real schedule. Day 1 has Vancouver playing Washington and it's been said already that there will be no games outside of the conference.

No question target is 50-game, not 48-game, season. Speculation is it would be 5 games vs 4 division rivals and 3 games vs 10 Conf rivals.

It's definitely the old schedule. I looked ahead in it where there were certain games I knew I wanted to go to and it's for sure the old one. Nothing has been formally released yet.

Good for Miller. Glad he had the balls to step up and make those comments instead of blaming the owners. Both sides were at fault for this.

Agreed...

Say what you want about Miller, at least he's made an attempt at reconciling with the fans. How many times has Bettman or Fehr said anything about the fans during this whole mess? Not once. Miller's smart enough to know that the fans won't forgive and forget this time (SERIOUSLY, DON'T GO TO ANY GAMES!!) but at least he's making an attempt. I have a little more respect for him (only him) because of that.

I bet they do not buy anyone out this year, if Leino struggles then they may buy him out.
Peggy has money though so I could see him putting Leino in Rochester to find his game if it's a blah year this season.
