I hear you Nutter, but watching streaming video online isn't the same as watching on TV. The fact that all games aren't available in HD on Center Ice is simply mind boggling to me.

Ohh its definately not. The quality is sometimes worse.

It also looks suspicious if I am naked in front of the computer, while sitting naked on the couch doesnt look as bad.

yes and in 95 Trade deadline was

Trading deadline: April 7, 1995; April 7, 1995: D Petr Svoboda traded from Buffalo to Philadelphia for D Garry Galley.

And that season started on January 20, which looks like will be the exact date this season starts.

I like Bill's analysis of what the Flyers should be looking at doing.

I think at the current stage my only untouchable would be Giroux.

Lock up Schenn and Cooties to long term deals, and Read if he will do so cheaply.

Get yourself young d-men with warhorse potential. I was one of those that would have been willing to deal Schenn/Cooties for a player of Weber's caliber. If a deal for that kind of player arises again, the Flyers may have to lose some star power up front.

It seems that way.

I think Pronger would be an obvious one, and everyone else on the team you could probably trade away if need be for at least picks. Getting at least some value back in return.

Bryzgalov on the other hand, will face a lot of pressure this season. I dont envy him but wish him luck.

What would a hockey season be if we did not have Flyer goaltending drama? I have missed it. I hope Bryzgalov has a monster season a leaves everyone dumbfounded.

From what I have read yes. Flyers have any candidates for the buyouts?

I dont know how I would be able to handle the pressure he will be under. I would never be able to judge him if he underperformed.

Like you though, I would love if he came out with a monster season. Shut everyone up, including me. If he can get on to a bit of a roll early and get some swagger, the universe should watch out.

His season was uneven last year. He was either great, or awful. A little more consistency and cutting down on the soft goals is all he really has to do.

As fans we all have two choices.

We can get behind him and root for him to succeed, or we can follow WIP and root for him to fail.

With Bryz, I think JR said it best... he said something to the effect of he needs to get a thicker skin when dealing with the Philly press. No more goofy quotes and being pouty after losses etc. Keep your nose to the grind stone and get on a roll. Never publicly say anything about the D other than praise and don`t throw yourself under the bus in the press. Sometimes, whether he was or not, he came off as unfocused in his interviews. He has the talent and ability, just stay on target and be more consistent.

To me if you are a fan, why would you root for him to fail .. you are then rooting for the team to fail.

I root for the team, the logo and what I believe those should stand for.

If Bryzgalov or Bilbo Baggins are between the pipes, Id want either one to do well.

Bill,

So do you think it's likely that Read gets dealt sometime between now and next season?

Easier said than done though. The commitment to team defense must improve significantly. The defense core doesn't have a true top pairing guy, and the majority of forwards aren't exactly defensive stalwarts.

The stuff with throwing his D under the bus will do nothing positive, that definately needs to stop.

Honestly I think too much is being made of what he should say, shouldnt say, or if he should have access to the media. That itself just makes it a bigger issue.

Let him wear a backwards thong and a diaper on his head, I could care less. He needs to get back to having fun and just playing.
