glad to hear they live.... would love to have more details about mesz's exact status

also, to whom would you give the C?

- Don'tForgetTocchet

The situation of Giroux wearing the C is rather divided among the faithful. There are a lot more reasons to give Giroux the C outside of what he's done last season. He's a former Flyers first round draft pick and home grown, which is reason enough for me. He have no doubt he'll repeat what he did last season. He's been a great player since entering the league and has yet to take a step back. My biggest question is, can Hartnell repeat or are players like Brayden Schenn or Wayne Simmonds ready to be a compliment to Giroux.

I wonder what the crowd is going to be like at the Skate Zone on the first day of "training camp"?

Exactly, Joe. While I, too, am leery of a return of #20, if he feels well enough to play, then I support his decision.

Folks need to remember that he missed just 6 games after taking the high stick to the eye on 10/24. He then returned to play on 11/9 and played in 5 straight before he was put on LTIR. He hasn't been out since just the eye injury in October. I don't know what that means, exactly, maybe either the eye injury was exacerbated by an additional hit or hits, or it finally was properly diagnosed in November.

In short, your first sentence is correct.

from what i remember/pieced together, pronger suffered a concussion with the initial eye injury, but i'm not sure it went diagnosed. maybe it was and he came back too early. either way, IMO, he came back before he was healed. he got hit again, hard, a couple times and when you're not over the initial concussion, it can be devastating as we've learned.

nothing more important than healing completely from a concussion. the second concussion after not being completely healed is what killed primeau, crosby, etc.

A little publicized fact about the new CBA that hasn't made the news. Is that parking at an NHL game will be $35.00. A beer is $14.50. And a Hot Dog is $9.00. Have to make up the lost money.

Bill have you heard anything about the so called "Wade Redden Rule"? where the CBA prevents burying bad money in the AHL?
- Jsaquella

PA wasn't contesting that demand, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's added to the CBA.

I'm expecting a move of some sort prior to the TDL, if not before the puck drops.

It's going to be real interesting. GM's haven had much to do lately as far as the NHL team is concerned. I wonder if there is going to be some player movement before the first game.
