What if the end game is to end any games before the game end has an ending that ends all games?

BTW, Playoffs are still playoffs...

I am just surprised at how hard it has been for the NHL to sign up some goddam cattle for the ranch! The cattle have been rustled by the looks of it.

#NHL players will have a chance to vote on whatever offer exists at the deadline...players give me the impression they'll vote to play

Next Wednesday at the latest....tentative deal

Quick NHL! Make it a 45M cap with 80/20 revenue share and a 50 year term!

Wouldn't that be sweet?

sooooooo Fehr is saying "Lets see if we can squeeze anything more out of them before conceeding?" C'mon thats stupid. Vote TODAY, and have the players come back with a simple coutner of. We will accept TODAY if the schedule is 52 games not 48 since it is a week before your deadline. More games = more $.

I'm starting to believe the NHLPA's plan from the get go was a cancelled season to force the owners into giving them everything they want.

Unfortunately for the players, a lot of them seem willing to sacrifice their careers by allowing this to happen.

There will be no deal and the season will be cancelled. The battle between the PA and NHL is more about winning than actually playing hockey.

Apparently it was even flagged and highlighted ....and they had the documents for a week ,so if it's true then its fair game by the nhl.

You got it. Could just be another interesting move by Fehr, but who knows.

On the other hand, I just read this interesting quote from Andy Strickland (St. Louis Blues writer) which he put on Twitter:

"#NHL players will have a chance to vote on whatever offer exists at the deadline...players give me the impression they'll vote to play"

Hmmmmm..

They have a lifestyle to keep up... There is a reason many of these guys go broke after retiring... Player making 500k takes home in 6 yrs 1.8m, it's Pocket change if you think about it... they need to make enough money for a lifetime.

They make more than enough money for a lifetime, if they're too stupid to make it last then that's their own problem

I would be questioning my leadership too if they completly missed a change in HRR language for a whole week.

I would be even more pissed at my leadership if they knew the whole time and just waited to use it as a way to piss everyone off at just when thing were almost wrapped up.

I would be even more pissed at my leadership if we said we were going to disclaim and pulled out like a bunch of pussies then came up with the above excuss to go through the whole DOI sham again.

It's quite easy to see IMO....back in December when everyone thought there was a deal to be had there were rumours that Fehr told the players "I think we can get more". From an outsiders perspective it looks as though they will get more signing a deal next week than if they signed one back in December or even today for that matter.

At the end of the day the players are going to have to look back and ask themselves "was it worth it"? I doubt it will be especially since the fans are so pissed, but they are only going to lose half a seasons salary and STILL have an entire playoffs complete with bonuses etc.

It's real screwy and it sucks for us, but they WILL sign a deal next week, and it's probably been their plan all along. I could actually see it going to a players vote next week, they accept, then Fehr is the scapegoat and will look like the bad guy, just like Bettman is for the owners.
