Ok, then for you the product, only has an average shelf life of 4 years. In 4 years, nobody will notice they have been replaced. - bixll
The product that we pay top dollar to see has a longer shelf life of 4 years. You would not pay top dollar to watch 3rd and 4th liners. You can see that product at the AHL level for alot less |

well Fehr set the tone for himself by showing up late without notification so many times.
so even now, when he does advise, its still taken as negative. deservedly so as well.. he made his own bed when it comes to this. - Dozzer
Yup, I guess. Fehr is evil before he's on the job, fehr is evil for being late, fehr is evil for trying to change hrr. The league does all this and they get praise.... My point. |

I think they are selling the logo on the front of the jersey more than the name and number on the back. - robin_steele264
well imo you'd be wrong.
A couple of teams in the league can get away with that...but only for so long.
The league sells players...not the game of hockey for the most part. Sure they make changes to the game to attract new fans....but only so it takes advantage of the cattle they have. |

Can't we all get along and cry about that abortion of a Canadian showing and a Lolorenko of Russia instead of this he said she said polarizing bullpoop about the PA and the League? - AdamFrench

i am not sure if they no showed completely ever.
but they have run late without notifying. Fehr deserves the flak he gets for any legit rescheduling now due to this. - Dozzer
I don't remember a no show, but late many times,,said to be on purpose if I recall... Fehr's strategery. ( Bushes Word ) |

I don't think Doz said No shaows, he said late. And, they have been on many occasions. I know I am old, but I have a pretty fair memory. - bixll
Advising the other party that you can't make said time and re-scheduling doesn't make you late....it's just re-scheduling.
Being late/no show is when one party doesn't make said time, and doesn't give warning of it. |

a product has zero value with a medium to sell it
for the players to state we are the product fine.. they are. however, without a means of offering that product to the public the product is worth nothing.
the NHL players are really nothing more than a bunch of under educated athletes (there are exceptions) with nowhere to play. - Dozzer
They both need each other. To say that one can function as is, without the other is nonsense |

Oh here we go.
Sure he's been responsible for some things (some great expansion choices ).....but if you he's solely responsible for what the players are being paid....well then.... - Fakepartofme
Its his job to grow the sport.
The owners obviously think he's doing a good job.
And the players pay has risen 10X since he started this job, so maybe he had nothing to do with that, but I would think he might have something to do with it.

There's a huge difference between re-sheduling a meeting and being late without giving notice...
How do you not see that? |

That's a ridiculous comment. A physical defensively responsible 30 goal scorer is an asset and difference maker for any team. - 1979AD
One time 30 goal scorer....ONE TIME.
Had the leafs not had his 30 goals that one season.....how much worse would they have been?
I like Kuli but in the grand scheme of things...with or without him....what change would it hace had? |

Holy F.
I dont care about the name on the sweater... the leafs have sucked for 10 years.. and we still pay to watch the leafs, the players are interchangeable. over 30% of the league turned over after last lockout and more people watched than ever.
If Crosby or Kessel never play again I dont care

I understand the concept. But it happened, they were late many times, as reported by Betman and his crew on several occasions.. Go watch the previous TSN reports. |

Interesting.
So if the Leafs played in an outdoor pile of crap rink would people still pay the same for the 'poduct'?

114,000 people were willing to watch the Leafs and Red wings play outdoors in a football stadium |
