okay, when was this?
and thats not showing up late.. thats pushing a meeting back.. two different things.
the union has setup meetings and just not showed up on time. without notifying the league.. shady as (frank) imo. - Dozzer
They set a meeting, and didn't attend. Both have done so.
The pa advised they were late when it happened.
Same situation, only one taking flak.
EDIT: that happened this week |

Would you if it cost you a million or more bucks? - Leafland
No idea where a million bucks is coming from here.
Do you not find it a tad bizarre that the side that places the blame is also the side that refuses to allow holes in the system to be fixed?
AND... the fix doesn't take more money (overall) from the players. It *might* impact 10% or it *might* impact more than that, but the overall salaries are not reduced by contract length or variance.

Depends which Kuli, the defensively strong fairly physical 15 goal 40 points guy, the 30 goal defensively good slightly physical guy, or the 7 goal looking lost half the time and flubbing golden chances guy.

Most are.
I started out with the players... then got sick of them crying.
At this point I've become apathetic.
Players get about 10% support in any poll Ive seen. - robin_steele264
Silly. I hope the players make out like bandits. I sure as hell relate to the hockey players more than some blood diamond CEO. |

They players will make out like bandits, they do every time.
But they are spoiled brats and totally out of touch.
They hate Bettman... Im sure most of them dont even know their pay has gone up 10 fold since he took the job.

No, they are not the product.
Hockey still exists if every member of the NHLPA vanishes from the planet.

yes, the NY Post article.. that isnt changing how HRR works.. just who penalizes the teams that arent honest.
the article also states that bettman stupidly told the players that there were some GMs who regretted signing some of the contracts (dumb dumb move by Bettman)... i believe this is what upset the players more than anything.
as for the proposal of Bettman being the only one to administer punishment for HRR reporting violations it was pulled from the table the moment the players objected.. so I have a hard time believing that this little thing is what stalled everything... especially when the league conceded their position.
my guess? Fehr is stalling til he gets his authority to break up the union again.
from what i am hearing ongoing talks are still happening via a federal mediator.. which leads me to believe its not nearly doom and gloom as some are suggesting. - Dozzer
The end result is nothing will occur until the absolute final drop dead date of next Monday (I believe its Monday)....Which was the NHL's plan all along.
They met with a mediator last night and they'll meet large group later today. This will continue for next week or so.....as it as for the past 110 days.
Each side thinks they have the other right where they want them.
Again, its Bettman (and to a lesser extent - it's Fehr) we are talking about.....I completely believe it could be a little thing to stall the process. |

if you advise the other side you are going to be late thats ok
the PA has shown up late WITHOUT advising... the NHL has not.
thats the problem.. meetings get pushed back all the time.. but its only sheisty if you dont tell the other side you are going to be late.

I think the real kule is the 15-18 goal strong d, fairly physical ( no fighting ) than the others, though Itd be nice if he's the 30 goal guy. |

i am guessing this too.
these guys are both guys who like to take things to the brink.. both believe they can get whats best if they do.
my guess is the next couple days we will see little movement than bam, a deal will be struck with both sides basically meeting each other halfway on whatever issues are left. |
