You never read any of my posts then.
- burn

i read them all.

and yet again.. you dismiss the question and dont answer it.

what i am hearing now is that bettman told the players (for some unknown reason) that there contracts some GMs regretted signing which irked the players and made them upset.

which frankly, makes a hell of alot more sense.

Yesterday the league waited for the pa. And they didn't show up. Burnt another day.

Great negotiating.

- robin_steele264

But the pa has never waited for the league to come, for them to not so up right.... Like a dozen times. Never happened.

nope.. i asked for a quote from a player or union rep.. not from a reporter.
- Dozzer

sure... And how do you suppose I get a quote from one of them without a reporter? A quote direct from an NHL player isn't sufficient?

RE: Kuli/Oilers, not going to happen.

EDM is not going to give up a top tier prospect/player for Kulemin and TOR is not going to give up a physical, defensive winger who's shown he has the potential to score 30 for any of Gagner, Paajarvi, Hemsky. They've already got a better 2nd line C than Gagner and smaller soft forwards is the last thing the Leafs need.

I cannot quote your post above, regarding the hrr issues yesterday for some reason.

Your stance on it, isn't the issue, this is:

The NHL, we’re told, attempted a late change in the language regarding penalties for clubs caught hiding Hockey Related Revenue (HRR) through audits by the NHLPA.
The previous CBA, and previous proposals, stipulated that clubs in violation of HRR-reporting requirements would be fined $1M plus the loss of one first-round draft pick for a first offense, with a second offense carrying a fine of $5M plus three first-round picks.
The NHL on Thursday attempted to change that so that Bettman himself would decide all the penalties. The league withdrew the changes when the PA objected.

Exactly there is no way Edmonton trades any of their 42 superstars for any AHL life/bust from the Leafs.

Agreed.

Buffalo would be the only suitable partner for the Oilers as they are GRIGOSTACKED

The PA and their supporters are fond of blaming the owners for creating problems with their own stupidity.

The PA however is fighting to make sure that the owners cannot fix the problem by closing the loopholes. Their argument is based on some theory (unproven) about the negative salary effect on the "middle class".

So basically "We blame you for creating the problem, but we are not going to let you fix it as it MIGHT negatively impact the "middle class" of the PA".

yes, the NY Post article.. that isnt changing how HRR works.. just who penalizes the teams that arent honest.

the article also states that bettman stupidly told the players that there were some GMs who regretted signing some of the contracts (dumb dumb move by Bettman)... i believe this is what upset the players more than anything.

as for the proposal of Bettman being the only one to administer punishment for HRR reporting violations it was pulled from the table the moment the players objected.. so I have a hard time believing that this little thing is what stalled everything... especially when the league conceded their position.

my guess? Fehr is stalling til he gets his authority to break up the union again.

from what i am hearing ongoing talks are still happening via a federal mediator.. which leads me to believe its not nearly doom and gloom as some are suggesting.

the union has setup meetings and just not showed up on time. without notifying the league.. shady as (frank) imo.

Most are.

I started out with the players... then got sick of them crying.

At this point I've become apathetic.

Players get about 10% support in any poll Ive seen.
