Tell me you are being sarcastic.. lol

Pronger is a slam dunk. Bryz only makes sense if you plan to get another #1 guy immediately for cheaper. Don't see it happening.

- Hextall271

why isn't bryzgalov?
the guy is a headcase and can't hold a job in the KHL
not to mention holmgren did nothing to improve the blueline so it will just be swisscheese all the way to the net
paying bryzgalov all that money would be a waste

They both better be tremendous the next few years. We're going to need it.

Anyone else here Gostisbhere (?) compared to Duncan Keith? I heard/read that somewhere and can't remember.

- mayorofangrytown

Yes, Ian Laperriere drew that comparison.

No, I'm honestly dead serious. I think he's easily replaceable and I'd love to get out from under that deal.

good idea...im sure this is on the table and is what has been holding up a new deal getting done
- Crimsoninja

The owners will never get guaranteed deals off the table. We'd have to lose two seasons and maybe the whole league to make that happen. There is no way that's even on the table. If it was the NHLPA would be no where near NY right now.

I'm hoping my sarcasm meter is faulty...

My gods, I used "here" instead of "hear."

I can't post any more today, I've obviously gone around the bend.

Anyhow, I hope Laperriere knows what he's talking about and isn't just overly excited. I haven't seen Duncan Keith in his game, have you?

Meltzer's flying home, that must mean the lockout is ending
- Jsaquella

That was my first thought.

why isn't bryzgalov?
- 2Real

Because he's way better than any other option the Flyers have currently (i.e. Leighton, Hovinen, Heeter).

the guy is a headcase and can't hold a job in the KHL
- 2Real

He wasn't given a job partially because CSKA already had a good goalie in Stana, and preferred to give the bulk of work as opposed to a guy who was going to jump ship if/when the lockout ended.

not to mention holmgren did nothing to improve the blueline so it will just be swisscheese all the way to the net.
- 2Real

Holmgren traded for Schenn, a defensive defenseman. He will likely be a better defenseman than Kubina was.

paying bryzgalov all that money would be a waste
- 2Real

A waste if he performs as he did for the 2-month stretch from mid-November to mid-January. If he performs like he did in the first month of the season or the last 3 months of the season, he's worth the money.

I was only half kidding. I don't think bryz will be bought out. Maybe after this season if he has a poor year.
- twotoekenn

sarcasm meter is broken...blame ek for giving me false hope every day.

Aren't the buyouts scheduled to occur after this truncated season?

Hopefully that'd be the case. Would make it easier for teams to figure out what to do. Plus the cap will supposedly be at its lowest point for that season, so that's when buyouts would be needed most.

If they plan to start a week after the CBA is signed it would create a huge mess.

You sir are a moron.

Who holds the Flyers shutout record again? He does make alot of money and if he does horrible, then yeah consider buying him out. But as everyone mentioned there arent alot of options that would be more cost efficient, and Bryz does have the potential to be a legit #1 tendy.

Long story short, You= Moron

The term 'art' sure is subjective. In this case, it's more like spin art, or dubstep.

I don't agree with the points you make actually..except the one you make about needing an upgrade on D.

He was never given a chance to play full time in the K for reasons Bill has mentioned. So the plan to compensate for an average D is to have Leighton play? No one is presenting any options for #1 goalies that is better than what we have. Lundqvists do not grow on trees and if we got a Luongo, he'd get thrown under the bus just as fast as Bryz when he struggled. Tim Thomas?? please..bigger headcase.
