Well Kaberle is gone in a year isn't he?
and Markov will get injuried anyways so Bourque
But I still think they give Bourque a second chance, so just Gomez - Oilhab
Kaberle gone after next season. BUY HIM OUT |

Yes we need help up front. But saying we don't need a player like Jones is pretty dumb. ANY team in the NHL would take him. But YOU wouldn't? Okay buddy.
The guy is the best D to come into the draft in a while, noone from last year touches him talent or skating-wise(on D). And he has a huge frame on top of that.
Gotta love Habs fans and their mind stuck on grabbing a 'big talented center'.
We need many things to become a contender, and not only offense. We won't win with the D we have right now, and nothing guarantees that Beaulieu, Tinordi, Ellis, Thrower, Dietz or Bennett will necessarily make it to the NHL, injuries and other problems happen fast, especially in Montréal it seems.
So what if you have too many good D's? It's pretty good assets to have. Look at Pittsburgh with their Goligoski vs Neal trade. Or Carter for Jack Johnson last year for the Kings. - QuebecPride
I think he said dont get me wrong i wouldnt be upset if we got Jones, |

Take the best player available, just like every other year.
Last time the habs had "too many" good young D, they traded 2 for Gomez and let one walk to the islanders to make room for Weber... |

Without Hudon. Danault, Ouellet, Drouin, Mackinnon, Huberdeau.
Totally the 'Q's fault. |

Those are two of the worst moves ever done by this franchise. I have confidence in Bergevin. |

When did i say it was their "fault"
All i said was that you know it is a poor year for talent in Canada when that many Q players are making the team.
So in reality it is the fault of the other 2 leagues this year for not producing better talent

Liked Grigo and Yakupov(in the 2nd part of the game) today. But man is Yakupov ever selfish with the puck. |

When you have too many unproven assets, you tend to make decisions like that.
In hind sight they were the wrong moves to make but back then
Striet was the oldest one them and you had "alot" of young ones needing spots
and there is no excusing the Gomez trade but at the time it wasn't a bad move because of Valentenko and Mcdonut, it was a bad move because of Gomez
Even the great Bergevin will make stupid moves, just give it time |

I'm not saying he will be perfect. I just think he will be more competent than Gauthier for example. And as bad as Gauthier was, he did make a few good moves. Those 2nd rounders this year and last year (Thrower) will help us strenghten our prospect pool. Holland was a nice find too. The Halak trade was a good one.
I will never forgive him for being in part responsible for the Gomez trade though.
