The only thing more pathetic than Canada's play today were the Russian superstar scorers in the shootout...the was that?

Oh come, on Koivu had more then one move,

Zednik only had one and he used it not only in a shootout but every shift of every game

I remember him scoring most of his goals by shooting the puck after cutting to the middle pre-McLaren.

Do you see it translate to the NHL? 'Cause I have trouble seeing that.

He was pretty quiet in the important games last year and had stupid penalties.

Today he didn't do much either.

the vacuum cleaner (entering the zone pushing the puck with one hand on his stick (code), and using the other trying to push opponents as if they were furniture)

the hawks also had, Toews, Kane, Hossa, Sharp....dont get me wrong i wouldnt be upset if we got Jones, you are right you can never have too many good D, i just think that lookin at our forwards, the issue on most nights was scoring, the Hawks didnt have a Carey Price so they had to rely heavily on their power D, right now it seems to me we need players (forwards) that other teams look at as offensive threats everytime they're on the ice, its not that i dont believe in the Pac-DD-Cole line but it doesnt compare to most teams first lines
- Habitants98

Yes we need help up front. But saying we don't need a player like Jones is pretty dumb. ANY team in the NHL would take him. But YOU wouldn't? Okay buddy.

The guy is the best D to come into the draft in a while, noone from last year touches him talent or skating-wise(on D). And he has a huge frame on top of that.

Gotta love Habs fans and their mind stuck on grabbing a 'big talented center'.

We need many things to become a contender, and not only offense. We won't win with the D we have right now, and nothing guarantees that Beaulieu, Tinordi, Ellis, Thrower, Dietz or Bennett will necessarily make it to the NHL, injuries and other problems happen fast, especially in Montréal it seems.

So what if you have too many good D's? It's pretty good assets to have. Look at Pittsburgh with their Goligoski vs Neal trade. Or Carter for Jack Johnson last year for the Kings.
