Rare are the ones who stopped covering the talks that were going nowhere to go watch junior hockey, or even MAAA.
Got to give it to TVASports who found alternatives in Bulldogs/'Q games. RDS didn't even care about the fans. They finally are going to show KHL games, but guess what, NHL's coming back...
I mean EE's bread and butter is the NHL, but I would have liked to see him talk about something else, for once...
I'm sure I'm not alone. - QuebecPride
it's the same in Boston. with 4 NCAA teams in the city and several others just outside people other than students or alumni could give a poop less. same with minor league hockey. people here love watching hockey as long as it's the Bruins.

I think the NHL helps all levels of hockey. If no NHL on TV attendance is down all over. Last few seasons I went to a bunch of Sea Dogs games this year 1, actually paid attention to the odd Bulldogs game on SN now I don't give a (frank) and the WJ is meh especially on at 5 am or PVR.

Sad to hear this. NCAA hockey is pretty darn good and fun hockey to watch. Especially with you guys having bold teams like BC, BU, UMass and Harvard(for the prestigiousness!).
Also, that Eichel kid will be mad good. He is promised to BC, but things could change, especially since it's Halifax that hold his rights. Expect him to end his USNDT stint with the U-18 next year then move in Halifax.

The emotion might not be there for Junior games I can get that. But the WJC is the best hockey we might see this year. The playing time is a bummer, but you cannot hate that tournament.
No NHL hockey should push people to junior hockey, it does, but only a small margin go watch their local team, which is deplorable...

People are pissed at the NHL and avoiding hockey all together. Don't see anyone wearing NHL merchandise. I like the tourney just sucks it's not on in prime-time.

It's not the CHL's fault the NHL is on lockout, that's a pretty bad rhetoric. But again, think about how stupid the average Joe is, and remind yourself that 50% of the pop is worse...

I personally see no chance of Beaulieu or Tiniordi on this team. Neither are ready for the NHL. Give them until next season and we'll see 2 kids potentially ready to step in but right now they'd struggle mightily.
Priority #1 has to be signing PK. Once a CBA is signed they'll have 7 days before the start of the season. Thats alot of work.
Assuming that PK signs then I think the D would be something like:
Markov-Emelin
Gorges-Subban
Kaberle-Bouillon
Diaz as 7th with hopefully Weber looking for work elsewhere or on waivers
Once there is an injury on D then I would like that Mike Commodore would be the first called up (assuming he signs a 2 way deal) He's not going to overpower but would provide that veteran leadership and muscle on D to allow Tinordi to develop more.
Up front Is where there are major question marks. Gomez, Galchenyuk as the 2 biggest in my mind. Will both or neither be on this team?

If NHL hockey there is. Then Tinordi is your first callup, ahead of Freddy St-Denis. - QuebecPride
Problem now is that there are 8 "NHL men" on the team. Tinordi has improved alot this year but he still has a mile to go. He is out muscled so often on the puck despite his size. He needs to majorly bulk up.

We haven't been watching the same games my friend. I'm not saying Tinordi would make the roster, I'm saying he'll be the first callup. From what I've gathered, he's far from getting outmuscled. And he's gaining confidence with the puck, allbeit in his possibilities. Certainly Hamilton's best on D this year.

I've seen him I would say 10-12 games this year because of TVA and sportsnet, had the privilege of watching him live as well over the holidays. He is a leader of the team, perhaps the best Dman on the squad but realistically that's not saying much.
Bulldogs are young, inexperienced and play really really sloppy D. Tinordi does play physical which works well with smaller bodies but he's struggled with some of the bigger bodied players. I cannot wait to see him him next season but I truly hope they take their time with him and let him play out the full year.

he desperately needs muscle on that frame.
Give the kids time and let's not rush them - willey101
I agree, but he's rarely getting outmuscled. And his frame is not filled. He will be a beast.

...a very slow beast - Pecafan Fan
Slow no......his skating has improved drastically. He's not a Hal Gill or Andy Sutton ype of slow. He moves like Pronger and hope he develops the nastiness like Pronger had as well.
