Getzlaf is the most sought after Center in the NHL outside of the Stamkos', Malkins and Crosby's. If Edmonton could actually acquire him, it would happen. Gagner is a bum. Before he had an 8 point game Oilers fans were ready to run him out of town, now all of a sudden he has some spectacular potential worth trading Getzlaf for, give me a break.

If the Russians didn't lose to Canada today you wouldn't say they were an unusually weak team. Yakupov is displaying traits of character that Edmonton should look to dump to fill holes while Yakupov still has maximum value. The Oilers aren't perfect, despite what some of you homer fans want to believe. This team as it is won't win any championships. You fill the holes by trading away assets that garner return. Paajarvi won't fill any holes, Yakupov will.

Maximum Value? Little early to say that, don't you think?

That's your opinion, over Getzlaf I would rather have Crosby, Malkin, Stamkos, Datsyuk, Henrik Sedin, Jonathan Toews, Erik Staal, Henrik Zetterberg, Brad Richards, Anze Kopitar, Claude Giroux, Joe Thornton on a good day, Mike Richards, even Nicklas Backstrom...but that's just my opinion.

If Edmonton could actually acquire him, it would happen. Gagner is a bum. Before he had an 8 point game Oilers fans were ready to run him out of town, now all of a sudden he has some spectacular potential worth trading Getzlaf for, give me a break.

I never said that Gagner could fetch Getzlaf, all I said was that if Gagner and a first don't do it..dont do it..I agree that it would be foolish of any GM to make that trade if your giving up Getzlaf..so unless a GM is being really foolish I wouldn't trade for Getzlaf...
It has more to do with the fact that I don't like Getzlaf as a player for the oilers, sure he's a good player..just stay away from edmonton, he's not what they need. I don't think he would fit in with the core group, plus he would demand to much money, oilers don't need two centers both capable of putting up 80 plus points, can't afford that..a 50 point second line center is enough, give Gagner two inches of height..20 more pounds and a meaner streak he would be the perfect second line center..

Russians are missing something they had years ago..that is puck control..they don't play with that high level of skill we are used to seeing..
Yakupov is flying out there..he will bury his chances soon enough, he had four quality scoring opportunities..
One of his weaknesses at this age is his streakiness..most goal scorers are streaky their whole careers..it happens, world juniors is such a small sample size.

Your right feaster has 5 prospects (almost 6) in the worlds without relying on the lotto

But luongo isn't a bad idea for edm. He excels when getting lots of shots(which he'll get). Is a great personality. And still is a solid goalie.

Kassian is the muscle edm needs, and has hands.

Yaks ego looks like it will fit in with Kesler. They can both not pass to each other.

But ya won't happen. But yak for a goalie should be the focus

Now off to drink

- numbear

I think you're already drunk.

one of the worst trade proposals ever.

It may be farfetched but I think one of the big 3 in hall eberle or nail should be traded for Kris letang. The pens can't afford him and getting a winger for Crosby would be huge. The pens are loaded with young defenseman where it would hurt losing a letang but they have the guys to replace him. The oilers would get Their star dman to lead them for the next ten years. It is a deal that works for both teams but is not talked about and should be considered on both sides.

Another poopty proposal!

Yes in my opinion Kris letang is a top dman in the NHL. I think he is better than subban who is metioned on here a lot. With him and Schultz you have two top scoring dman. If I'm trading yaks, it would be for someone like letang. I just feel it's a Trade that helps both teams out. Richard where do you think letang ranks when it comes to defenseman?
- jeb064

The is a reason richard is called boner, it show's when he talks about other teams players. Subban is good but nearly as good as richard thinks. Like someone said earlier he write shyt like this for hits. He is a self confessed troll and with no NHL hockey to talk about he attracts a similar element.

LOL...seriously, it's so soon after the 2012 draft for these kids, let them play a few years and then judge them! None of them have even played a meaningful professional game yet.

Letang and ???? Not straight across...Is Letang a top of the league Dman? Eberle was 15th in scoring...Hall is our future captain...Yak I can see but still...

In your explanation it is ok for the pens to lose Letang cause they have plenty of Dmen to replace him...Who do the Oil have to replace the guy we are trading?

- OilHorse

The thing is Letang is a top of the league d-man, he is the best defenceman we have here in the burgh, and he was a candidate for the norris trophy before he got injured. If having 42 pts in 51 games as a defenceman while being better defensively than Erik Karlsson (who is considered a top of the league defenceman) than I don't know what is. And a potential swap of Letang for one of the kids would make sense but not right now, We would need to find a top pairing defenceman from our abundance of high end defensive prospects.

Unless the team overpays for him they shouldn't do it. If wouldn't be worth it unless it's a defenseman that is ready to help the OILERS a lot.

WTF? How does a guy who has never played an NHL game have maximum trade value??? Unless you are suggesting that he is going to immediately suck once he plays in the NHL so his value will go down. Ridiculous comments like this make MJL and LB look like genius's.

It is "lower than". If you are gonna try and insult people, at least use proper grammar. That way you do not look like a tool, while trying to belittle others.

No way you trade yakopov..the kid is magic on ice...dont forget krueger looks to be putting hall at centre and there is your instan centre problem solved...it will protect hall more and will allow one of the many solid wingers we have to move to the other side...we are set on D when the kids develop and dubey showed(against NHL players) in the spengler he is a number 1 goalie...
bottom line is no trades and like I have been saying let all the great 2-5 brilliant draft picks McGregor made develop...

Honestly, I don't see a change in the order of the top three picks.
