Your right feaster has 5 prospects (almost 6) in the worlds without relying on the lotto

But luongo isn't a bad idea for edm. He excels when getting lots of shots(which he'll get). Is a great personality. And still is a solid goalie.

Kassian is the muscle edm needs, and has hands.

Yaks ego looks like it will fit in with Kesler. They can both not pass to each other.

But ya won't happen. But yak for a goalie should be the focus

seems like you've already started. Calgary's prospects after Baertschi are crap. Yay he didn't rely on a lotto and got filler. He probably only drafted them in case he gets hungry.

yakapov/Horcoff for Luongo/Kassian/Ballard
- numbear

Horrible deal. Horcoffs bad contracts better the louongo cause its done 20 years sooner. Ballard wouldnt even make top 6 in the oilers defence and kassians no where near yakopov.

I love how people try and make lottery picks seem like a bad thing.

It may be farfetched but I think one of the big 3 in hall eberle or nail should be traded for Kris letang. The pens can't afford him and getting a winger for Crosby would be huge. The pens are loaded with young defenseman where it would hurt losing a letang but they have the guys to replace him. The oilers would get Their star dman to lead them for the next ten years. It is a deal that works for both teams but is not talked about and should be considered on both sides.

Only when it's the Oilers. It doesn't count when it's Pittsburgh, Chicago, or say Ottawa.

Letang and ???? Not straight across...Is Letang a top of the league Dman? Eberle was 15th in scoring...Hall is our future captain...Yak I can see but still...

In your explanation it is ok for the pens to lose Letang cause they have plenty of Dmen to replace him...Who do the Oil have to replace the guy we are trading?

I honestly think that Cloutier only brings up these Yakupov trade proposals because he knows that will get him a ton of hits..
Like seriously trading Yakupov and Gagner for Getzlaf?? WTF???!!?! Serious?? Getzlaf plays such a lazy inconsistent game, yet has the size of Eric Lindros, in edmonton fans would boo him in two years..Yes he's put up alot of points..so will Yakupov, or at least we think he will it's why Oilers drafted him..if Management believed in him when they drafted him what has changed now? World Juniors stats really don't mean much especially when your looking at an unusually weak Russian team..
What's a second line center with size that plays no bigger than our current smaller second line center? If Getzlaf played half his size maybe..but he doesn't.

I wouldn't do Yakupov for Getzlaf straight up. If Gagner and a first don't do it then don't do it..either Gagner will be our future Marc Savard or someone we draft will..or maybe, just maybe Hall moves over to center?
What about finding a 50 point second line center that plays with an edge and has some size?
We don't need a second line center to put up 80 points..50 is already above average, Gagner is doing his job..it's too bad he's so small..

I think a Gagner and Paajarvi package could get us a decent second line center that plays with size and can put up 50 points a season. If not, we wait.

Don't forget that guy who was drafted in the first round this year that will be the steal of the draft in 10 years.

LOL...seriously, it's so soon after the 2012 draft for these kids, let them play a few years and then judge them! None of them have even played a meaningful professional game yet.

Who regrets the pick? If you go back in my blogs, you'll see me saying the Oilers should consider Galchenyuk because they need a big center more than they need another right winger. Yakupov has played fine at the WJC. His play isn't the issue. The Oilers positional needs are the issue, and Yakupov could be used to fix a major roster hole.

I am more open to dealing Hall before Yak! Yak is gonna be a stud Hall for me will be a more injury prone less productive player!

Yes in my opinion Kris letang is a top dman in the NHL. I think he is better than subban who is metioned on here a lot. With him and Schultz you have two top scoring dman. If I'm trading yaks, it would be for someone like letang. I just feel it's a Trade that helps both teams out. Richard where do you think letang ranks when it comes to defenseman?

Getzlaf is the most sought after Center in the NHL outside of the Stamkos', Malkins and Crosby's. If Edmonton could actually acquire him, it would happen. Gagner is a bum. Before he had an 8 point game Oilers fans were ready to run him out of town, now all of a sudden he has some spectacular potential worth trading Getzlaf for, give me a break.

If the Russians didn't lose to Canada today you wouldn't say they were an unusually weak team. Yakupov is displaying traits of character that Edmonton should look to dump to fill holes while Yakupov still has maximum value. The Oilers aren't perfect, despite what some of you homer fans want to believe. This team as it is won't win any championships. You fill the holes by trading away assets that garner return. Paajarvi won't fill any holes, Yakupov will.
