According to laughs2907, he is the next Alex Daigle, might be able to get a 3rd round pick for him if you are lucky.

That's the complete opposite of what I was saying. It would be cool if he could play in the NHL before we call him unworthy of being taken 1st overall.
Not untill his first contract is up. With as much talent as the Oilers have we will be in serious cap trouble with the CBA for many years.
Yak has a high probability to be 50 goal scorer playing with Nuge and Shultz. Hemsky or Hall... Hell even Gagner.
You trade him when his value is through the roof and you know you most likely can't afford to sign him long term.
Get back solid depth players, and/or an ammazing center, and some first rounders.
Make the Oilers a contender for 10+ years.
As much as I would like to think RNH, Smid, and Shultz will sign Oiler friendly contract's I can't see it being low enough to keep the current talent level we have. - Aerchon
Good post. Hall and eberle in 7 year deals at 6 mil yr is great. Rnh get the same. They will balance out to keep there core

Or you could have just moved down in the draft and took Galchenyuk. While also adding other pieces. Already want to trade Yakupov lol And other than Justin Shultz, noone on your defense would be a top 4 on any good team. Subban would be your best d-man. Doubt montreal does that though.
I'd trade Nail for sure. Trade him for a young but established player that might be ready to pounce on a new deal. Not to mention this Oiler team isn't done rebuilding. Let's get that next top pick and see where that takes this team. Should be over the top by now.
