Yak has played with Koko each game and Zharkov the last two after Sergayv got injured.

Not exactly inspiring.

- AdamFrench

Well then put him with the hottest player in the world freakarenko. Didn't they play with each other in one of the two other Canada vs Russia series?

No, but with Freakorenko even a pile of poop like Yakupov will be tearing the hockey world a new bumhole.

I heard Russia will play Grigorenko by himself next game.

Score is expected to be 10-1 Russia. After the 2nd period. one goal due to Grigorenko taking an extended 10 second break to recharge his awesome.

Richard Cloutier: Would You Trade Nail Yakupov?
- Maxbone

You do not trade Yakupov. You put him on the wing with Gags and if anything you trade Hemmer. If the Oil are still bad this year like you so often say then they will be in good position to draft a big center this summer.

I happen to think they will be dynamite this season barring any injuries to key players. Duby is going to be just fine as the starter thanks. And Schultz, Schultz, Smid, Petry, Whitney are going to be good too.

Im sick of people saying Edmontons D and Goaltending are the reason they stunk last year. Both D and Goaltending were middle of the pack. Heck The Oil only allowed 2 more even strength goals last season than the Flames (and everyone says they are great defensively and in net). The reason believe it or not that Edmonton was last was goal scoring. And that was mostly due to injuries.

I say go into this season as is and see where we are. Dont (frank) it up before you even know.

I'd be more scared of the future Oilers with Murray instead of Yakupov.
- Boinker

Murray would have been a better pick

Way too early to say he was the wrong pick, I have no problem drafting the BPA even if Murray/Reilly would fill a bigger need. People put way too much stock into the World Juniors IMO.

The only thing worse than playing with Koko and Zharkov would be playing with Schremporenko.

Just to clarify, I'm almost certain he means scoring depth.

True. However the only other player I accepted the oilers drafting instead of yakupov was galchenyuk. Galchenyuk has been solid but not amazing against the stronger teams. Not to take anything away from gally, great player. But sometimes that line chemistry isn't there for certain players in the tourney.

I think oilers should focus on drafting our future number 2 centre and look to trade gagner for a steady blue liner to stabilize things and chip in 30 points a year (not named sekera).

Sidenote: drouin looking better and better. Kids playing himself into the top two.

As long as the Oilers have solid defense and stronger depth they'll do fineee. Keep Yak he makes them more exiting

the Quack has signed a bunch of Dmen to 3yr deals... vets at that like Souray, Beauchemin and Allen. I would dare to say that is a sign, that they are into rebuidling their 2nd units more so than blowing it up.

Ryan will be the odd man out, if anyone is moved at all.

--

Keep Yakupov, if you're basing your logic on World Junior tourneys... might as well sign up Legace for the goal and Jon Slaney to QB the PP.

I'd rank Rielly ahead of Murray.

Jacob Trouba has looked very good as well. Jets fans should be excited.

Oh yeah looks like he's going to be a good one. I'm happy with Reilly, but he would of been the next choice in Dmen that draft for me.

Didn't really watch much of the Slovakia and USA game but to me trouba has been one of, if not, the best defensemen all tourney

Other than the Pen/Flyers series there was no hatred. It was all defensive boring hockey with no dislike between the teams.

Reilly has been real good. Ive been most impressed with Reilly, Harrington and Oullet. It's funny because I've read lots on Reilly but haven't seen him play much till the world juniors. I always figured he'd be a high offensive spark plug that may make the risky play and have lots of turnovers but he hasn't been that way at all. Great two way defenseman. Goes to show you that "offensive dman" doesn't mean risky.

Definatly a bad idea. Seriously pk subban. Were gonna have atleast 3 guys better then him in few years. Ride yakopov til his entry levels done give him a chance. And that trade for getzlaf is terrible like you said earlier he hasent re signed for a reason. He could possibly sign on being an oiler is becoming a popular thing in the nhl
