oilers than can be considered legitimate 25 goal scorers, one of those goes down and we're looking
for a Yakupov type finisher..
Rieder looks good right now but I wouldn't bank the future on him for a minute, even if he pans out as a solid top six forward we still got holes, Hemskys health is a concern, as is Halls...Yakupov canalso play LW..rw on the PP..

3. Getzlaf would be a bad move. The Oilers have far too many Ryans. Just wait until they finally hammer out deal, the Oilers suck for 50 games and then they'll draft Barkov. There's your #2 big bodied center. Then trade Gagner for a bag of pucks and everythings super fun time in EDM.

I consider myself more of a realist. With your newfound love of Rieder, would you not be ecstatic having those three as your RWs? Making a gamble of that magnitude is not the right course of action. What of Rieder doesn't progress to a top 6 guy, and Hemsky continues being fragile as hell? Then we're suddenly without second line scoring.

Oilers could use some nischuskin to play with yakupov.

Honestly though, I think yakupovs struggles are mainly due to his linemate chemistry. Yak played his best game against Canada and if I'm not mistaken he had new linemates (aka no zharkov). I found that most of the Russians love to attack the zone one on 3 which is almost useless against the Canadians. I think yakupov would benefit playing with Someone who brings the puck in and sets up similar to rnh or heck even freakarenko. Once things were being set up in the offensive zone yak had more quality chances.
