No they don't. Are you honestly offering that as a reason why the Flyers would be better off missing a Season?
- MJL

Yes, I just didn't have a good feeling about it and the Bryz issue needs to be addressed as well...If they don't win the Cup it's the same thing as losing a season...

Bryzgalov is the Flyers starting Goalie. There isn't anything that needs to be addressed there. If he fails, then the Flyers are screwed. Just like any other team would be. Not winning the Cup is certainly not the same as the further damage that a lost Season would incur on everyone involved.

They need a season off to figure out how to improve the defense...

Theyve already had plenty of time...like the summer. I cant see what difference missing this season would make considering half of it is already done. They need off seasons to figure it out, not seasons off, IMO.

If you think the team would be bad, you're better of playing and getting a good pick in this very very deep draft. The Flyers have very good young players on their team, but the prospect pool is thin and bare.

I dont see how playing hurts them more than not playing..

That's my point...They need to lose Bryz and find a new stud goaltender...Until that issue and a new #1 d-man is found the lockout buys the team some time to ponder how to address those glaring issues...

We're trying to win the Cup, not just win 10 games...They need 2-3 years off to figure out how to assemble the right pieces to get it done...This past off-season was a kick in the nuts...

Theyve had a lot of time now, 3 or 4 months isnt going to change much. They may not be able to address the issues you mentioned for another 2-4 years.

So is every other team in the league. Well, the majority.

I agree they need time to figure it out, but the 3-4 months of hockey will do nothing to make that go away. They need that long regardless if a season is salvaged or not.

Dude, with that overhang of a belly that you have, I doubt any kick is going to get to your nuts.

Yes, the lockout provides a much needed break for upper management to work on a game plan:

1. How can we drop Bryz and find another stud goaltender
2. How can we find a #1 dman

They've already had a break from May/June until January..

Management can still come up with a game plan, even when games are being played. You do realise teams cant sign, trade, demote, promote players during a lockout. So how does not being able to make moves help a team trying to change things up?

Or they need to just put Bryzgalov in net and see if he can be the goaltender he is capable of being. The team, being the GM, and personnel people can ponder the situation just as well when the team is playing, as they can during a lockout.

I think management can use the lockout to their advantage without the extra burden of dealing with all the issues when games are being played...You are correct that all the teams should be using this time wisely to figure out what moves they will be able to make once the lockout is over...

I think we've all seen enough of Bryz to know that he can't handle the pressure of Philly and he needs to move on to the Islanders...

Though I dont see how they could fall low enough to make it happen, the perfect player from this coming draft for the Flyers would be Seth Jones. Theyre too good to fall into a draft position to take him, but I think it would be a perfect fit.

I disagree completely. He was very up and down and struggled. But he also had periods where he was very good. And he was very good in the last playoff Series. Bryzgalov has the ability to be a very good Goaltender. He is the Flyers starting Goalie. And I doubt you'll see any amnesty buyout used on him.

I watched a little bit of the US-Russia game. Seth Jones looks like a horse on the back end

While the draft is a beautiful thing, the Flyers really need a #1 right now...I had zero confidence going into this season with that dilapidated defense and that (frank)ing mental donut hole between the pipes...

He can't handle the pressure of a big market like Philly and they better use the amnesty on him cause that contract he has is crap and everyone knows it...
